Abita Root Beer

03 September 2009, 19.28 | Posted in Uncategorized | 1 comment »

selectism - Abita Root Beer

As established by one of our most esteemed colleagues, the best sodas are made with real cane sugar. Dublin Dr. Pepper, Mexican Coke, and a select group of others understand that cane sugar is the secret behind great American pop. Several breweries produce Root Beer (some took to this practice during prohibition), but few as expertly as Abita. Located 30 miles north of New Orleans, the brewery has been in operation since 1986. They added Root Beer to the line up in 1995, making excellent use of local cane.

In short, it’s fantastic stuff.

As someone from Louisiana, I can attest to how tastey it is. I’d highly recommend their beers to curious folks as feel. Turbo Dog, Andy Gator, and Purple Haze are must trys.
