Selectism - Maison Martin Margiela Line 13 Autumn/Winter 2009

Maison Martin Margiela’s Line 13 is an object line which grew out of expansion and development in MMM’s own work and retail spaces. “In the midst of the development of the architectural care for its ‘professional’ spaces, the Maison created a small collection of objects & publications named ‘Line 13’, started in 1999. …These objects will be available in the Maison Martin Margiela stores worldwide and a selection of fashion multi-brand stores in October 2009. The collection of the “white objects” is part of the global project of interior design and architecture that Maison Martin Margiela is developing for the near future.”

Feather pens, Russian dolls, and recycled glass lamps make up the bulk of Line 13. (hb)

Feather Pens, Really? We\’re collectively in one of the worst economic downturns of the past half century and some designer thinks taking a Biro and sticking a feather in it somehow addresses a need?

This is exactly why most folks think designers are fools.

  2. egad:

yea, the folks that have taken over design at Margiela are a very pale and watered down version of the real thing.
