02. Per Se Dinner Offers First Sips Of New Bacon Beer

On Friday nights many people go on the quest for a good beer but take that simple idea to Per Se restaurant in New York City and the idea gets a little more complicated (and fabulous). Tomorrow, September 18, Per Se is hosting a beer-paired tasting dinner with brewmaster Garrett Oliver of Brooklyn Brewery. Brooklyn Brewery Beers will be matched with a seven-course tasting menu. Among the other offerings, this is your first chance to taste “Reinschweinsgebot” an innovative beer infused with bacon from Benton’s Country Smokehouse. You can’t go wrong with bacon. This event will take place in the Per Se Private Dining Room and costs $350 per person.” (luxist)

03. Friendly Fires Remix Phoenix

“Just when you thought we were putting a cap on our ongoing coverage of how it’s been a Very Phoenix Summer, with the logical extension of the band’s brand expansion (stumping for fun-loving luxury SUVs, naturally), here we are today — another day, another Phoenix remix. But this one’s fun! Pretty fun. Instead of dub and chill club, past Decomposed session vets transform the Wolfgang tune du jour (”Fences,” which is a first as far as I can tell) into a cowbell-pitched house cut, relocating the band from the ’80s to the decade later. ” (stereogum)

04. Battery Wizard Snaps Disposable Batteries Out Of Their Slumber

“The association between batteries and geeks is like a romance between “two young star-cross’d lovers”, to take a little help from Shakespeare. Only, the relationship is most certainly polygamous. For, every geek in his lifetime depends on hundreds of different kinds of ‘em lovely batteries to maintain his identity. Now, this is where we want to step in and reduce those that he’s not taking seriously – the “disposable” ones, you see.” (popgadget)
