Clarks Wallabees Rusty Staples

Selectism - Clarks Wallabees Rusty Staples

Mr. Schneier and Peskowitz over at men.style spotted these “Rusty Staples” Clarks Wallabees during the Patrik Ervell runway show on Monday. While we’re unclear if they’re a one off for the show or something more, we are certainly big fans of the Wallabees and would easily add them to my closet at least.  Too bad they were not “Rusty Nails” so that I could reference that great Moderat single.

Another look at the Clarks Wallabees Rusty Staples after the bounce.

UNIS Waxed Peacoat

Selectism - UNIS Waxed Peacoat

Here is a nice seasonal transition piece for those not so cold, not so warm days. NY’s UNIS breaks out a waxed military inspired peacoat to save the day. Finished in olive green, the cut is “simple” and clean for a natural fit. Works well with a man tote, if you please.

More looks at the UNIS Waxed Peacoat after the jump.

Selectism - Givenchy Tartan Studded Shorts

Jak & Jil Blog catches stylist Panos Yiapanis wearing an interesting pair of studded tartan short from Givenchy. While studded is not an option for most, this attempt seems to work out well when placed against the black backdrop. If you do not read Jak & Jil on the regular (to see their perfect photography) we would highly recommend it.

Selectism - Smoking with Yohji

NY Mag sat down with Mr. Yamamoto for nothing more than a smoking session… and we like it. “Yohji Yamamoto is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. But perhaps there is a key. That key is smoking. Artist Jeremy Kost captures the famed designer doing just that in his latest screen test.”

Selectism - Cool Hunting, Archinect Guest Edit Wallpaper* Online

We’re pretty excited about this one. We reference content from Wallpaper* often on Selectism. The magazine which launched in 1996 has covering “design, interiors, fashion, art, and lifestyle” longer than most out there. Have you checked out their travel guide series or Wallpaper Selects? I would. When they asked us to help guest edit the online portion of the magazine a while back, we could not be happier. We’re even more excited to be guest editors with Josh over at Cool Hunting and Paul from Archinect – two sites which we track and follow daily and which we hope you also visit.

Please visit wallpaper.com over the following month. Our stint starts tomorrow. Jason, Nick, David, and I hope to see you there.

Selectism - S.N.S. Herning Launching Online Shop

S.N.S. Herning has just made the boys happy worldwide with the launch of their new online shop. The Scandinavian company of heritage embraces the web with an online store stocked to the gills with their weather ready wears. We recommend supporting your local dealers but if you cannot find your fit nor style in the brick and mortars, jump here for success.

selectism - James Reynolds | Last Suppers

London-based photographer James Reynolds Last Suppers series documents the requests of former death row inmates. Their last meals exhibit a startling range. Some reveal the desperation of the moment (see for example the above), others a sweet tooth. Stirring stuff. (via It’s Nice That).

A few more images that caught the eye follow.

Shofolk ‘Bobby’ Chesnut Oxford Shoe

selectism - shofolk-chesnut-bobby-01

You might have guessed by now, but we’re real fans of Shofolk’s ‘Bobby’ last. While we love the tan version, we’re also partial to this suede/leather mix. The mix itself isn’t anything new, but sometimes the endless thirst for the new can get tiresome. A wise man once said, ‘it’s never what you do, but how’s it’s done’ – and Folk have done ‘it’ incredibly well. (Folk)

Detailed images after the leap.

Outlier Workwear Pant

selectism - Outlier Workwear Pant

Outlier’s workwear pants have hit full production. Designed for function (like all Outlier product, these have the cyclist in mind), the trouser is built from Outlier doubleweave canvas. What, exactly is that? The outer weave is a durable Cordora canvas, while the inner is brushed for canvas. Additionally, the fabric is treated to make it self cleaning. A curved waist band and gusseted crotch are added for freedom of movement.

After the jump, view more images of the trouser from photographer Emiliano Granado after the jump.

Rag & Bone Sting Blazer

selectism - rag-bone-sting-blazer

We’ve been on the lookout for a tweed blazer for eons now, but it looks like the fashion world has finally caught up to our tastes. This Rag & Bone blazer has bigger lapels than some (namely us) would usually go for, but it works surprisingly well. If we had to be exceedingly fussy, we’d probably change the buttons to some brown ones – but apart from that, it’s pretty much on point. And it’s on sale, although it’s still a long way from cheap.
