Fantastic Man Launch New Website

24 September 2009, 10.30 | Posted in Books & Magazines | No comments »

selectism - fantastic-man-website

Our favourite mens mag, Fantastic Man, have just relaunched their website. It used to be a holding page – industry shorthand for ‘go out and buy the magazine’ – but now they’ve relaunched as a full on interactive website, albeit one with a decidedly irreverent approach. The forum consists of commentable reader questions, daily recommendations and a monthly outfit post entitled ‘the look’. While it’s extremely early days (the site only launched yesterday) it looks like it’ll be the perfect compliment to the print magazine.

“Freshly back from the party at The DOCK, described as “An emporium of creative talent instigated by Tom Dixon and sponsored by Derwent London.” ~ and before i even show you what’s inside, coming back to the hotel and browsing the pics, the way the space photographs as the sun set was just so fun! Selectism - Whereabouts for Wrangler Western Shirts

Cowboys in Japan, unite. An interesting collaboration popped up on the Japan market. Whereabouts has worked with Wrangler on small collaborative set of western inspired shirts. Two standouts are the corduroy shirts in brown and green which are finished with the standard western cuff and bright snap closures. They look to also be a more modern fit for westerns. (maw)

Selectism - Pleasure Principle Black Double Zip Sweatshirt

This may well be one of the most interesting sweatshirts we cover this season. For the sake of construction and build, we show you this double zip piece from Pleasure Principle. It is very much a drapery piece which can be worn in a variety of configurations. It features full front and back zippers allowing for it to fall as desired, though the four armholes seem rather confusing unless you’re into that. (oak)

selectism - brothers-bray-sl-01

It’s been a year of surprising collaborations. APC with Supreme, Louis Vuitton with Kanye West, The Black Keys and Jim Jones, but news of SL columnists Billykirk making a collection that will stock at Urban Outfitters still shocked us a little. In fact, it shocked us so much that we got in touch with Chris Bray and asked him just how this collection came around.
