A very aggressively priced puffa downer from the +J collection at UNIQLO. It’s priced so well that they limit one jacket per person for pruchase. Must be something in that padding I would say. While the hype has been insane around the +J collection, this piece shines as an example of simplicity done right. Nice +J hit on the zip-up. (UNIQLO UK)

I was there when this collection launched at the NYC Uniqlo, all the good sizes ran out that day, with no trace of it. For the price, it\’s solid, but don\’t really expect it to keep you warm. I tried it on and it just wasn\’t enough, too light, I felt like I was wearing a windbreaker lol The design is flawless though.
As Atif says, these are fashion jackets rather than genuine down jackets. Still – I managed to grab one in their sale & it\’s great for the price.
Actually they are 90% pure down and they have a fill power of 650 (700 in USA fill power rating)…and are just 10% feather…so I’m afraid you’re wrong about it not keeping you warm, it is basic physics – they keep you AS warm as ANY other jacket of that fill power with a nylon/polyester outer. I have a North Face Nuptse, and Schott down jacket and one of these…and these compare surprisingly well. I was on a thread where mountain climbers and outdoors aficionados were all buying them up as down inners…and some even used them as outers. Obviously they go for higher fill power rated garments for sub-zero temperatures, but they said these definitely have their use. And even though they are not advertised as waterproof, the rain penetrates this less than both my TNF and Schott jackets. Sorry, but they’re far more than just a fashion jacket. The fact they are packable and so light is an indication Uniqlo intended them to able to used in all situations.
