Selectism - Rapha for Paul Smith Grand Tour Gloves

We covered the Paul Smith “Favourite Shirts” event from Tokyo not too long ago. Well, Rapha is not making it easier to get your hands on their special collaborative gloves over here in the West. “The Rapha Grand Tour gloves use ‘African Hair Sheep’ leather to produce the softest and most durable gloves on the market. African hair sheep live on the arid savannah of Eastern Africa. To cope with the heat and dry conditions, the hair sheep have extremely thin but strong skin. The hair sheep leather is ‘table cut’ by skilled craftsmen and worked by hand lengthways and crossways to give the leather beautiful texture and suppleness.” Available from Rapha now.

  1. wow:

Before you buy anything from this company, I suggest that you read through the following information and think again!!!

Rapha’s so called “worldwide pricing” is a genuine rip-off for non-EU customers.

I had to pay an “international price” that is much higher than UK domestic price simply because I live outside the region. Not to mention the fact that the price I paid was higher than non-VAT RRP based on UK prices as well.

Someone lives in the UK can buy their Country jersey that’s on-sale for USD$124.75. I live outside EU and I had to pay USD$135 for it?
