Selectism - Etienne Louis Espresso Machine

Full disclosure: I own a Saeco Magic Plus Espresso Machine. With that, and the help of iainc, we present the Etienne Louis Espresso Machine – a coffee maker that resembles everything from a droid to a landmine. Media Assasin translates some text on this object. “The cover of Etienne Louis is a ball made of polished stainless steel from cast aluminum – the foot is taken and the surface of aluminum peaks occupied. All aluminum parts are polished. The upper half of the sphere is removed, your under the water tank to be removed also.”  This one takes double duty as a coffee and illicit device. Scare the visitors, scare yourself and drink from one of the most dangerous looking devices you’ll showcase in your salon.

More looks at the Saeco Etienne Louis Espresso Machine after the click.

  1. What in the world do you hold onto when locking the portafilter in?

  2. Thanks for another of many linkages, guys…! For future reference, can I just correct you on the spelling of my name – it’s ‘Iain’ with an extra ‘i’.

  3. Fixed!

  4. thing looks like a fucking death machine

  5. Shahni:

    Can you buy this?

  6. ProudOwner:

I bought one of these in Berne, Switzerland in Dec 2000. For anyone who whines about it not being the best espresso maker ever, you missed the point! It’s functional art! We love it and it certainly is a conversation piece. It was also fun seeing the x-ray technicians’ faces when I went through the Munchen airport!
