Selectism - Twitter Giveaway | Dry Bones D.Lewis Chambray Shirt

More goods for you guys… Self Edge, those purveyors of all things Japanese, want to gift one lucky winner with a Dry Bones D.Lewis Chambray Shirt.  Dont worry, 36 is not the only size available. Check out the history on this shirt.

This chambray shirt is designed by D.Lewis & Dry Bones. D.Lewis is Britan’s oldest motorcycle clothing brand. Started in 1891 they were producing multi-purpose motorcycle gear and by 1920 were making leather jackets for motorcycle and military flight use. D.Lewis went on to be one of the world’s top original workwear and motorcycle gear companies and became legendary in the rock scene when the Sex Pistols, the Clash, Ramones and Iggy, even John Lennon & Paul McCartney were owners of vintage pieces of D.Lewis clothing. Today D.Lewis only has two lines outside of it’s own, one produced by Comme des Garcons and one by Dry Bones.

As always, it’s pretty easy to enter and win.

Follow Selectism on Twitter and tweet the following message: Follow @selectism and RT this message by Dec 22 for a chance to win a Dry Bones D.Lewis Chambray Shirt http://bit.ly/8iYIL0

We’ll randomly choose a retweet as the winner on Dec 22nd.

OPEN GIVEAWAYS: Do not forget to enter yesterday’s Comme Des Garcons Peacoat giveaway which ends on December 21.

Good luck to all.

Now that 6876 are firmly back on the map, we caught up with founder Kenneth Mackenzie to talk shop. Plenty of topics came up, including the heritage boom, the plans in present and future for 6876 and whether he feels the need to remind folks that he was collaborating with Tricker’s before it was all trendy.

Read the interview after the leap.

Troegs Brewing Company Mad Elf Ale

selectism - Troegs Brewing Company Mad Elf Ale

The seasonal brew from Troegs, Mad Elf Ale, mixes pilsner, munich, and chocolate malts. The result is a ruby red colored beer, fitting of the holiday spirit, and taking cherry, chocolate, and honey hints. A knock on holiday brews being too sweet could easily apply here, but it gets favorable reviews from the smart people at Beer Advocate (B+).

Troegs Brewing Company is located in Central, PA, and has been brewing beer since 1997. Aside from the Mad Elf, five year round beers and three further seasonal brews are produced. The Mad Elf comes in a remarkable gift box, which can be had for roughly $65.

Now that we’ve officially bored you all to death with continuous teasers, we thought now’d be the time to show you a full collection. Or, to be accurate, half of a collection. Don’t worry, we’re not teasing, it’s just that showing the entire O.C. collection in one post is guaranteed to cause sensory overload. So in an act of care, we’ve decided to split up the collection into shoes and boots, with shoes coming up first.

The shoes themselves are a continuation of the AW09 rather than a depature: the shoes vary between the slimmer, low profile shoe designed to be worn with slimmer trousers to the chunky Trickers-esque type shoe that should last you till winter. Take a look at the collection after the leap.

You wanna know why we put this up? Two reasons. (A) we like tweed. (B) we like patchwork. Put them together in a blazer (which we also like) and you’re onto a winner. We also like products from Japan that are only available in sizes too small for us. It’s the blogger’s way. (Arks)

01. Crumpled City Maps By Emanuele Pizzolorusso

“From Emanuele Pizzolorusso, a crumpled city map made out of Tyvek that comes in a bag. The soft map, printed on both sides, is designed to be accessible and easy to use. No more folding along those elusive creases or danger of ripping precisely the area you need the most.” (mocoloco)

02. Printing A Road

“The Road Printer is a device that can be used to print road-signs directly onto the road surface. As opposed to the tedious job of hand-painting the signs, this device looks at making the task easier and precise. A set of templates like Stop, U Turn, Bus, Arrow Signs etc. are pre-programmed into the device and are jet-sprayed to the surface. The menu buttons are large enough to endure a boot or a push from your fingers. A solar panel on the top-end helps in charging the thang.” (yanko)

03. A Selection Of Merry Seasonal Greetings From The Creative Community

“Another round of season’s greetings from the creative community. Check back in throughout the week for new additions. Got another to share? Email Creativity’s editors.” (coudal)

“The sounds in this video are ACTUAL sounds from the Jeep. Everyone began rehearsing their parts 2 weeks before we shot the video. It took us 7 hours of filming to get a solid take. Enjoy! Be sure … ” (youtube)

Selectism - Missoni for Converse All Star High Top Sneakers

LA Times’ “All the Rage” delivers the first proper images of the forthcoming collaborative effort between Missoni and Converse. “The classic Chuck Taylor All Star high-top shoe will be served up in two different versions of Missoni’s signature zigzag pattern printed on the sides and tongue, with colors that tie back to Missoni’s Fall/Winter 2010 menswear collection. The circle patch (the design that sits at about the ankle bone of the wearer) is rendered in brown leather, and the traditional “license plate logo” at the heel is monochrome.” Missoni for Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars will be available at Missoni boutiques in New York City and Beverly Hills and other select retailers beginning in early April and retail for 200$US.
