Based in Brooklyn, , showed off a collection of men’s hats inspired by old NYC. While the inspiration may not be unique, the hats do offer select looks for gentleman looking to add a bit of leather, bowler, or fedora to their lives. Simple details complete the hats. Look for them near the end of Summer.

I work with hats and I find these rather unimpressive. They really just look like low-midrange hats with with shredded ribbon tied to them.
The materials used in the manufacture of Tracy Watts’hats are the finest in the world. This Homburg is made from rabbit fur felt, the lining is satin, the “shredded” ribbon is French Grosgrain. The hat is hand blocked and shaped, the ribbon is hand distressed. Tracy has been collecting antique hat blocks for nearly two decades and has many new blocks custom fabricated to her designs. This season’s collection has been inspired by hats worn by the gangs of New York, before the Draft Riots of July 1863. For this particular hat, the crown was formed to custom block of Tracy’s design, and the brim formed on an antique block. The blue ribbon uses the gang color of the Roach Guards, a mid-ninteeth century gang from New York’s Five Points. Ribbons were torn and sewn into the seams of gang members’ trousers or used to adorn their hats. Tracy’s hats are all hand-made in her Brooklyn, New York studio.
i think these hats look great, I can kind of see the old gangs of NY influence, I’ll need to see it up close
Amazing hat, and thanks for the backround info! I’ve seen Tracy’s hats at some of the best stores in the WORLD (Bergdorf Goodman New York, Isetan Japan, Douglas Fir Los Angeles, etc), and have always been a fan. Congrats on another amazing collection. It’s refreshing to see a designer think beyond what just looks “cool” and really have a story/inspiration behind a collection.
