Based in Brooklyn, , showed off a collection of men’s hats inspired by old NYC. While the inspiration may not be unique, the hats do offer select looks for gentleman looking to add a bit of leather, bowler, or fedora to their lives. Simple details complete the hats. Palladium keeps charging into 2010 with refined looks and more fashion inspired takes on their classic French boot line. The “Pampa Tactical” boot (shown above) features moisture wicking fabrics and  a stash pocket on the tongue. IN our gallery you’ll find more looks including some distress canvas boots. Not surprisingly, the halls of Las Vegas these days are filled with reminders and notions of workwear’s past.  Take Tokyo’s Stevenson Overall Co., a recent (2007) startup that develops rugged trousers and jeans which pull details from authentic blue collar clothing while adding in modern details that make them strong contenders against other players in the field. From leather reinforced buttons to single seam crotch button reinforcements, Steven Overall Co. cares as much about the details as the trend.

Our staff at Project LV all noted this excellent jacket from the Black Apple collection for Autumn 2010. The waist length jacket features some details that complement rather than weigh down the look – double button front, officer jacket fitting, and a zipper treatment on the shoulder flap. Very well done.

Puma showcases the “Urban Mobility Collection by Hussein Chalayan” collection once again at Project LV this week.  We originally covered their Spring collection back at Project in September when it was jumping off as a capsule collection. Today, it looks like the collection continues strong with new and old silhouettes being introduced using a variety of new fabrics including elk on some models. A very well executed collection if we may say so.

Caufield Preparatory showed off their Autumn 2010 collection at Project LV this week. We’ll highlight one shirt with some interesting details which pull from Alps inspired themes. The shirt features printed inner details on the sleeve, exaggerated pockets on the front with pocket flaps finished in cord.

We try and avoid the cliches, we really do. But sometimes they’re just too gosh darned suitable for the situation. Take these monk-strapped desert boots for instance. On a normal (albeit slightly lazy) day, we’d call this a classic with twist. And that’s what we’re gonna it today. Sometimes you can’t improve on a cliche. But what you can improve on is a shoe style. Desert boots are now a staple and look to stay that way for a while yet – so any twist on the formula is much appreciated. Monk straps have a tendency to age the wearer by 20 years, so it’s nice to see it applied on a more casual shoe. (My Wardrobe)

If you’ve – like 99% of the industry – overdosed on chambray and selvedge denim, there’s a very strong possibility that you’ll need a piece like this. Yep, we said it – need. It’s all well and good having the wardrobe basics down, but there comes a point where you’ll need some personality pieces. Go on, give it a go – it won’t hurt anything other than your bank balance. Here we go again. We’re sure everyone’s bored of us recommending these Shofolks in their various guises, but a handsome shoe is a handsome shoe. This time the colour is a navy leather  – a nice change from all the blue suede going around – and it’d look great with some rolled chinos. That’s not such a good look in these still-freezing conditions, but it will be when the sun finally decides to show it’s face again (and that’s gotta happen sooner or later). [ASOS]
