Our Legacy Japanese Woven Cardigan/Jacket

17 February 2010, 14.30 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

selectism - our-legacy-japanese-woven-blazer-01

We’ve come across plenty of cardigan/jackets in our time and we’re still not sure what to call them. Cardijacket? Jackigan? Whatever you wanna call it (for the record, we’re going with jackigan) Our Legacy have come out with a great version. There’s more than a few handsome pieces in the first of Our Legacy’s SS10 drops but this jackigan is the pick of the bunch. A great layering piece for right now, it’d also work great as a jacket when the weather finally picks up. (Tres Bien)

Take that leap to see another shot of the jackigan and the model’s increasingly Bubbles-esque hairdo.

Selectism - Project LV | Wolverine No. 1883 "Preston" Shoes

We’ve known Wolverine through their successful “1000 Mile” boot line, but these “Preston” shoes from their “No. 1883″ collection charmed us at Project LV. “Distinctive style and expert craftsmanship combine to create the Preston. A supple full-grain leather upper is highlighted with contrast stitching while a full-leather over foam footbed cradles the foot, providing all-day comfort.”

Project LV | Helly Hansen Autumn/Winter 2010

Helly Hansen’s showcases the ASK line at Project LV. Two jackets caught our eye, the Insulator and the Wool Jacket. Both are designed for city use, but with the full range of technical features expected from Helly Hansen. As such, the ASK line is quite on trend.

In addition to the ASK line, Helly Hansen will be releases a new collection of branded apparel (goose downs, sweaters, hats, and more) that includes a patch inspired by the Oslo Boat Club.

Project LV | Tretorn T-56 GTX Sneakers

Selectism - Project LV | Tretorn T-56 GTX

Spotted at Project LV, the Tretorn T-56 GTX is a fully lined, slim silhouetted Gore-Tex sneaker. The tongue is fully gusseted, meaning even more water and cold protection. Originally conceived through collaboration with Stockholm-based retailer Sneakers and Stuff, the model (not surprisingly) comes direct from Tretorn’s 1956 catalog.

Not a new shoe for the line, but one that floated our boat.

Selectism - Project LV | Aether Autumn/Winter 2010

The friendly folks at Aether continue to refine their technical outerwear for autumn/winter 2010. Shifts are subtle, including a new look for the Space Hoodie liner, which now comes in an additional jacket form. Other new editions include a range of cashmere knit goods – both in scarf and hat. The fine cotton layering pieces also show growth, with long-sleeve and v-neck t-shirts in the mix.

On the accessories front, the Tarmac bag is built of hydrofoil. This makes it water proof and durable. The addition of a short strip of reflective tape is a nice touch as well.

More from Aether at Project LV after the jump.

Selectism - Project LV | New Era EK Autumn/Winter 2010

Designed by Bill Hodge, New Era EK gives a more significant lifestyle angle to the Buffalo based hat maker. The line is named after New Era founder Ehrhardt Koch. For autumn/winter 2010 expect plaids and wools, with leather accents. The Denver, a flat cap, was a Selectism favorite.

Project LV | US Army

Selectism - Project LV | US Army

“The mood and heritage of the past with the technology and performance of the future.”

Above is the tag line of the newly minted, officially approved, US Army brand. Working directly with the armed forces (as in each piece is approved), US Army offers military spec pieces with heavy emphasis on technical feature. For example, their 10th Assault Jacket comes seamed sealed and manufactured with the Japanese fabric Toray. The jacket will become available in two camouflage options.

To be perfectly clear, US Army is a licensed brand from – yes – the US Army. We’re told proceeds will go to the well being of the troops.

Details of the US Army 10th Assault Jacket, as seen at Project LV, after the jump.

Engineered Garments Work Shirt

selectism - engineered-garments-work-shirt

Here’s something we like to see – a shirt with a difference. We’re bored beyond belief with traditional check shirts, so we’re bound to get a little excited when a see a shirt attempting something different. We’re seriously considering releasing doves in the air like it was a Michael Jackson trial. Engineered Garments can take things a little too far sometimes (remember that tweed top hat?) but pieces like this remind everyone why they fell in love with the brand in the first place. (Garbstore)
