Like everyone else, we’ve had enough of winter now. We didn’t mind it a few weeks ago – heck, we even liked it at one point – but it’s time for spring to come back. We won’t complain about it being too hot, we promise. This B Store shirt would make a great intro to Spring – mainly because it’s the kind of shirt you can’t wear at any other time of the year. Thanks to the wonders of the internet (and the fact we write these posts a day in advance) we can say that one SL team member is wearing this jumper this very second. We’re always bleating on about this,but the lines between brands like Massey’s and the sort of brands stocked in a typical menswear store is slowly blurring. It’s a simple, wearable piece (and we don’t mean that in a negative way) and could slot easily into any man’s wardrobe – it slotted into ours easy enough.  (Daniel Jenkins)

While this video offers no new thought about Jack Kerouac’s masterpiece, I really like the behind the scenes view offered by the Indianapolis Art Museum from their 2008 display of the manuscript. Laying out the pages is conservator Jim Canary, and his effort allows a rare look at the original document. Short and sweet, but nevertheless intriguing. After all, the book remains one of the Americana must reads.

A year long celebration of Carnaby Street starts on Friday February 26th in London. “The first event, an innovative exhibition and limited edition book of the same title; Carnaby Street: 1960 – 2010 launches on the 26th February to Saturday 10th April at 38 Carnaby Street, W1. The exhibition will put into context the history of Carnaby from its earliest origins in the 16th Century to the present day with a focus on the 1960s…The limited edition book will feature images from ‘60s photographer Philip Townshend and exclusive interviews with people who have lived and worked in Carnaby including The Who’s Pete Townsend.” (above photo by Philip Townsend)

Thorocraft previews new styles being added to their Autumn 2010 footwear collection while refining and “tweaking” looks shown in their Spring collection. The high hiker boot, “The Julianess” and the deck shoe, “The Williamson,”  (shown above) mix things up for the line. “Thorocraft has also added new colorways and textures to classic styles such as “The Xander” in a soft desert suede.”
