Brogues tend to get most of the blog love, but we might just prefer a derby. While brogues always have a sense of work about them – we can’t bring ourselves to wear them on weekends – derbies have a versatility that means they can truly be dressed up or down. Take these Heutchy numbers for instance. A handsome derby, the fact that there’s no brogue-ing accentuates the pretty shade of honey brown the shoe comes in. I regularly wear brogues on the weekends. During the work week I wear a pair of Harrys of London slippers in the office and a pair of Vans on my bike.
Don’t know what it is, but I just can’t wear brogues on the weekend. Maybe I’m just odd.
