Fred Perry for Liberty “Blank Canvas” Collection for Spring 2010

01 March 2010, 20.30 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

Selectism - Fred Perry for Liberty "Blank Canvas" Range for 2010

Launching this April from Liberty is their “Blank Canvas Collection with Fred Perry. The range includes four classic Fred Perry products styled with two “timeless” prints of Liberty – the “Mark” and “Edenham.” “Items include four re-worked classic M12 polos, two in Black with Ecru tipping and two in white with Larkspur and Berry Red tipping. The polos have then either been printed all over in each print or have a more subtle Liberty touch with the Edenham or Mark print on the inner collar and placket. A short sleeved shirt fully printed in both Liberty designs and the Classic Fred Perry Black Harrington Jacket with Mark lining complete the Blank Canvas collection.”

Mister Freedom Black Mulholland Master Jacket

Selectism - Mister Freedom Black Mulholland Master Jacket

When you talk about construction to the extreme, Mister Freedom does come to mind. Check this “riding” jacket in all it’s glory over at Self Edge. “Due to the popularity of the original Mulholland Master Jacket Mister Freedom has paid a short revisit to the piece by turning it into a cleaner version by employing a black jungle cloth fabric and forgoing the clip clasps for black Fiocchi snap buttons over the 1930’s style ‘hookless’ zipper. This version of the jacket also comes with white & indigo plaid checkered accents and a black windproofing leather inside the zipper cover flap.”

The Inoue Brothers Autumn/Winter 2010 Chunky Bubble Cardigan

Skipping that awkward spring knitwear collection, The Inoue Brothers have returned with their Autumn/Winter 2010 range. While most of their collection is best appreciated in the flesh, we felt we should draw special attention to this bubble knit cardigan. An eco-friendly company, The Inoue Brothers avoid the guilt trip and focus on creating desirable clothing with high quality materials. Each piece is hand made by a team of Bolivian knitters, using alpaca wool and andean highland wool to create a cardigan that’s both soft and warm – something we can’t say for many of our favourite brands. As for the cardigan itself, the shawl collar is reassuringly thick and the bubble pattern makes this a step up from the other shawl collar cardies doing the rounds. It’ll be available around August at Dover Street Market.

Adam Kimmel Reversible Denim Jacket

The designers mantra for this season seems to be, to poorly paraphrase Snopp Dogg, ‘Ain’t no fun if my homes can’t reverse none’. The reversibility on this jacket sets it apart from the denim jacket herd, making it much more versatile than those vintage shearling numbers doing the rounds. As you’d expect from Adam Kimmel, it costs a pretty penny, so you’d better start breaking open the piggy bank if you want one. (Tres Bien)

Song remains the same, detailed images after the leap.

As you can tell, we’re desperate for summer round these parts. Wearing cream shoes is a dangerous business – you don’t wanna get caught in the rain in these bad boys – but we’re brave enough to recommend it. If you are gonna wear these, Accuweather is your friend. (B Store)

Penfield Vassan Jacket

selectism - Penfield Vassan Jacket

A healthy dose of (hopefully final) winter blew through the East Coast last week. While dreams of deck shoes and shorts certainly haven’t been squelched, the reality of needing a jacket to see us through the remaining cold months and into Spring remains.

Penfield’s Vassan Jacket works a charm. It’s a 60/40 cotton/nylon blend with enough heft to battle cold and enough color to transition through to warmer temperatures. Additionally, stocklists like Oi Polloi have it on sale, so the potential of buyers remorse is low. Keep your hood up for March flurries and April showers.

APC Madras Shorts

selectism - apc-madras-shorts-01

Too early to be thinking about shorts? Nah, it’s just the right time. As getting hold of good shorts in July is nigh-on impossible – according to retailers that’s when Autumn starts – it’s best to buy a nice pair early and stash them away until the sun rears it’s head. The pattern on these makes them a little harder to pull off, but you’ll look all the better for it. (End)
