Safe Bike Rack

selectism - Safe Bike Rack

Another bike post? Yes, absolutely.

All of us who regularly ride city streets face the consistent problem of where and how to properly lock up. Jeff has documented his recent mishap, a fellow cyclist thinking it wise to lock up to a strangers frame. We’ve all locked to lamp posts, street signs, parking meters, and metal bike racks.

The folks at The Motion Lab recognize all the inherent problems of city cycling. Their Safe Bike Rack plays on the age old symbol of security – the pad lock. In addition, they’ve incorporated a plastic coating to make sure riders don’t scratch that fancy new paint job. (via Industrial Design Served).

Let’s hope we start seeing these on the streets soon. Until then, hit the jump and check out some more images of the Safe Bike Rack.
