Birki’s kicks out some proper colors for the Malibu Sandal. While the colors themselves are not new nor is the sandal, we love the price point on these – around 50$US for a two buckle adjustable PVC based sandal which looks great.  Find them anywhere (just about).

Following up on the runway video we presented a while back, we can now show you official looks from the collection via the brand’s “Retired Rockers” inspired collection for Autumn 2010 by Umit Benan. “The Retired Rockers inspiring the F/W 2010-2011 collection are a group of musicians who made music history in the 1970s and ‘80s, once young and wild kids with no direction beyond rousing an entire generation to a blaring rock beat. Umit Benan presents his vision of these old rockers – his rockers – imagining a rock band à la Rolling Stones that gets together with a few old buddies such as Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen and with producer Ahmet Ertegun (the man who discovered them and who, not coincidentally, shares the designer’s Turkish roots).”

In shop magazines and newspapers are an excellent way for shops and brands to present their take on the world. While you can visit a website and read blogs all day, holding in your hand printed matter allows for the writing, photography, and design to extend itself onto a hard format. Amsterdam’s Tenue de Nîmes shop delivers their fourth issue of Journal de Nîmes which a focus on France of all places. “We decided to put our spotlights on France for this issue because the southern European country has always been a great source of inspiration for all of our concepts and activities. After hovering on the fashion outskirts for a while, Saddle shoes are back with a vengeance. The issue with these shoes (and all ‘classic’ shoe styles) is that you don’t want to be wearing matching outfits with your grandfather – however dapper he may be.
