Dickies Apron for Grilling This Memorial Day Weekend

Selectism - Dickies Apron for Grilling This Memorial Day Weekend

This is a legendary man to the grill weekend in the United States and slightly beyond. Need the perfect apron or maybe one that will wear in with the same sense as your denim? Valet picks their favorites. “This weekend officially marks the start of grilling season and while I’m no dandy, I certainly don’t like the idea of barbecue sauce or steak splatters marring a perfectly good madras shirt. If an apron was good enough for my grandfather (a BBQ master, according to family lore) then it’s certainly good enough for me. Which got me thinking about all of those old school selvedge shop aprons that have been created lately by Japanese labels and indie denim brands.” The Dickies apron shown above is a steal at 11$US.

Selectism - Avalanche Magazine 13 Issue Limited Edition Reprints

Primary Information is reprinting the full 13 issue run of Avalanche Magazine. “Avalanche focused on art from the perspective of artists rather than critics… Willoughby Sharp and Liza Béar founded Avalanche shortly after they met in 1968. At the time, Sharp was a New York-based independent curator and Béar an underground magazine editor who had recently moved to New York from London. They published the first issue in 1970 and collaborated on thirteen issues from 1970 to 1976.” These long out of print periodicals look very interesting… (frillr)

Selectism - post-overalls-mattalini-jacket-01

After our last rather fashion-y pick, here’s one for those days when you’re chilling out, maxing, relaxing, all cool and don’t really want to put too much thought into your outfit (after school). The relaxed feel of this jacket means we wouldn’t want to disrespect it by overdressing – and before you ask, yes, clothes have feelings too – with super smart neckwear. So, in the heavily paraphrased words of Rick James, put away your bow tie and enjoy yourself. (Norse Store)

Take a leap to see another look at this jacket.
