Oki-Ni have a nice chat with H by Harris up on their site. They go into it about store’s buying habits, why Harris won’t be making seasonal collections and investment pieces. One choice quote is when Harris was asked about the difficulties of getting new talent into magazines.

There’s no one giving any direction. It’s the same with fashion magazines, the advertisers dictate what needs to be in the magazines, so fashion stories are diluted, at this point you realise that it is hard for new talent to come through. New brands are rarely showcased because the advertisers stipulate what is featured in each issue. So you think, what’s the point of anyone going to design college if only a small handful of people are going to get through?
