Esemplare, one of our favorite lines of the moment, return with their take on Spring/Summer 2011. We’re positive that a good portion of our readers love cycle – especially the track and fixed variants. We ride them as well and we especially love to showcase the best products and goods which revolve in that community. This may be one that sets the bar in clean design.

We recently took delivery of this gorgeous piece of metal which initially looked like a new cog. Upon a second look, it was clear that the Rotafixer T0001-0A is more of a next level fresh take on the lockring tool. It works by leveraging the tension of your chain – a technique which can also be used to remove your cog once the lockring is off. See it in action here. The boys at Union Foundry in Somerville, MA have been working hard on this and have kept it all local to Massachusetts – from milling to design. They even worked with MA’s heritage line, Penfield, on a protective wool pouch for the Rotafixer.

Trussardi 1911 delivers looks from their Spring/Summer 2011 collection. The Trussardi 1911 brand moved itself from a glove maker, to luggage, and more recently (1984) to a menswear offering. From the looks above and in our gallery, you’ll note the mix of three disciplines. Broad use of color against rich browns and olive shades work well.

Christophe Hascoat’s Taylor Supply is showcasing their second season at (capsule)Paris this week. The young brand’s Spring 2011 offering is a blend of classic shipping themes. ”Taylor Supply Spring/ Summer 2011 is a tribute to the Early 20th CEntury boatmen of America whose way of life was shaped by the sea. Men who survived on the wealth of the water by night and lived from the riches of the land by day. Fashionisto checks in from Milan with their report on the Pringle of Scotland Spring 2011 collection. “Finding itself catering to a man in a uniform at one point and then shifting gears to an attempt at fashion-forward ensembles based around the knit, the latest collection from Pringle of Scotland comes off as a surprise. On one hand, there is a showcasing of interesting work with knitwear, but at the same time, the collection becomes diluted with too many perspectives fighting for the limelight. From innovative spring coats with an edge to a walk on the softer side of menswear, Pringle of Scotland unleashes a chaotic view for the upcoming season.”

The American landscape provides the basis for Todd Hido’s A Road Divided. On the open road, the photographer found inspiration in empty roads and often used the windows of his own car to frame the shots. The resulting images are sometimes stirring, sometimes poignant, and often employ nature (rain, ice, snow, etc) to point an abstracted lens toward his subjects.

28 color photographs come over the 60 pages of Road Divided, which is published by Nazraeli Press.

We hate using the term essential to describe a piece of clothing, but a summer weight blazer is as essential as a piece of clothing can get (disregarding underwear obviously). This B Store blazer isn’t on sale yet, so we’d advise holding the trigger. Nothing worse than buying something full price to find that we could have just waited a couple of days. Not that we’ve ever done that. (B Store)

Toothpicks are something I carry everyday. I’ve been a massive fan of tea tree infused sticks for some years, and for a long time have stayed away from the Preserve offerings. They didn’t have the correct shape, and as such mouth feel.

However, they’ve undergone a recent redesign that has resulted in a sturdier rounder tooth pick. The excellent tubular packaging remains… making the perfect pocket size for (now) the perfect tooth pick. As for details – the sticks are made of fully sustainable birch and will keep your gums and teeth healthy.

I’m giving up on the other brands I carry.
