Stone White Rubber Watch

Selectism - Stone White Rubber Watch

This may be the lowest priced watch we have every covered on this here site. At 28$US from OAK, the white rubber watch is as disposable as it gets… to some. Other will enjoy wearing it through the Summer only to discover that the discoloration you’ll get from everyday wear may work well in Autumn.

The Sportula Spatulas

Selectism - The Sportula Spatulas

Take it from a guy who takes his grilling seriously: a proper spatula is all about the handle. While you may enjoy these laser etched spatulas for their flat pan, I prefer to enjoy the all maple handle. “Forget the tie, abandon the cufflinks idea, and surely he doesn’t need another briefcase….you know we’re talking about gift ideas for the man in your life. Well, stress no longer…we have the perfect gift….meet the Sportula. Whether he’s the ultimate tailgater or just a weekend barbecue fanatic give him something functional that will tell him how much you love him with every flip of a burger! Spatula is heavy-duty stainless steel with a laser-cut design. Handle is maple with durable brass rivets.” (cm)

Iron Heart Mini Herringbone Shirts for Summer 2010

Selectism - Iron Heart Mini Herringbone Shirts for Summer 2010

No one does shirting like Japan’s Iron Heart. They’re built to protect those on motorcycles but they’ll work for your day to day as well. Now, I would usually shy away from Iron Heart in the Summer due to their terrifically thick and proper builds but we’re told these shirts are made especially for the season. “All three breath well and are in a very nice fabric with colors perfect for summer wear.” Three colors to choose from. Self Edge has them.

Dogfish Head Bitches Brew

selectism - Dogfish Head Bitches Brew

The perfect liquid accompaniment to Miles Davis?

Perhaps not perfect, but inspired nonetheless, Sam Calagione of Dogfish Head has brewed up something special for the 40th anniversary of Bitches Brew. At 9% ABV, the beer fuses an imperial stout with a thread honey beer laced with gesho root. Made for slow sipping, it also works as an accompaniment to spicy meals.

Selectism - GSC Velo/Bike Stands

GS Cicleria takes the ordinary and turns it into a piece of floor art for the cyclists amongst us. “We have always wanted a simple yet beautiful stand to compliment our classic bicycles, so we decided to make our own. All of our stands are carefully created by hand by a master craftsmen. We did a small run of our stands using salvaged gymnasium flooring. Some of the wood was salvaged from the old Balboa Park gym in San Diego where some of the greats like Wilt Chamberlain played.” (tr)

First Look | Abington Autumn/Winter 2010 Preview

Selectism - timberland-abington-autumn-2010-01

We previewed this collection a while back but now we can take a clearer look at Timberland’s offshoot brand. They’ve stuck with what more flowery blogs might call ‘their original vision’, keeping the vibram sole as a main feature of the range. This is only a small preview – only four shots are available – but from what we can see, they’ll remain being the shoe of choice for those who like their workwear footwear with a modern updated (read: slimmer soles).

Kris Van Assche Backpack

Selectism - kris-van-assche-backpack-01

Bargain (and sarcasm) alert! This Kris Van Assche bag is down to the low, low price of $1,134. Don’t all reach for your credit cards at once though, you might need a couple of spare coins in your pocket to be able to afford this. If you’ve got the coins (and that’s a big if) we won’t begrudge you buying these. At least they’re much better than those Loboutin studded high tops every rapper’s wearing. (The Corner)

selectism - Bergino Handmade Baseballs

Specializing in finely crafted baseball related gifts, Bergino adds a touch of sporting legend to office or home decor.

Their balls come in a vast array of suede and can also be customized for more individualized gifts. We are also particularly fond of their miniature baseball gloves – which are perfectly sized for use as a paper weight or business card holder. Bergino is gearing up for the opening of a flagship shop, to be located in The Landmark Cast Iron Building at 67 East 11th Street, in New York’s West Village.

The space will act as a clubhouse and contain a unique custom design studio.

A look at a few Bergino products follow.
