Nigel Cabourn T-Shirt

Selectism - nigel-cabourn-tee-01

Despite the recent Cabourn explosion, we’ve not seen this t-shirt anywhere. It’s weird that a piece as sellable as this could pass under folks radar, especially when everyone seemed to have the same six pieces. At least the person who does go through the hassle of proxying it can comfort themselves in knowing that they’ll be the only guy in town with it. (Arks)

Song still hasn’t changed, images after the leap.

Velour ‘Charlie’ Duffle Coat

Selectism - velour-charlie-duffle-coat-01

Mid-season sales always confuse us – surely offering so many sales can only result in a customer reluctant to buy full price – but at the same time, we can’t resist a bargain. This Velour spring duffle is on sale (at $151) and it ticks our (short) list of spring coat requirements. It’s affordable and has a hood to protect from random downpours. We said the list was short. Song remains the same, images after the leap.

Raleigh Denim “Warren” Canvas Jean

selectism - Raleigh Denim "Warren" Canvas Jean

Regular readers will be aware of our fetish for canvas trousers. It began last summer in Las Vegas, with a pant from Left Field NYC’s collection.

Raleigh Denim, of Raleigh, NC, produces the “Warren” with 110z canvas sourced from the local White Oak plant of the famed Cone Mills. The pants are fitted with a button fly and feature Raleigh’s regular hip print to the pocket bags. A solid change of pace from denim… and especially from the heavy weights we favor once summer heat hits. Bows + Arrows has them.

Details and fit after the jump.

Falke Invisible Socks

selectism - falke-invisible-socks

Here’s something you need. Yes, need, not want – despite us being fashun, we do recognise the difference. The summer socks debate is one that rages every, erm, summer, but there’s been a consensus agreement as to the holy grail of the invisible sock – and it’s Falke’s invisible sock that’s won.

Mr Hare recently endorsed it and after we went and bought a pair at the weekend, so do we. It’s the perfect way to look like you’re going sockless – a painful feat in leather brogues – without actually going sockless. Whether you like invisible (or ‘invisable’ if you’re ASOS) socks or not, you’ve gotta admit that this is a much more attractive option than having your feet stick to your insoles. (ASOS)

Wood Wood ‘Nakura’ Shorts

01 June 2010, 10.30 | Posted in Fashion | 1 comment »

Selectism - wood-wood-nakura-shorts

We’re taking a decidedly rainbow-esque approach when it comes to shorts this summer. No colour is off limits (well, aside from any neon shades) so we don’t even mind this purple pair. Actually, we feel a little uncomfortable calling them purple, because they look like lavender shorts to us. I suppose it’s better than calling them washed navy or something. You’ll have to hurry to get your hands on these; they’re on sale (60 Euros) and the only size left is a small. (Azita)

Recycled Bicycle Wheel Clock

Selectism - Recycled Bicycle Wheel Clock

This recycled bicycle wheel clock may be of interest to some of our rider readers. “This clock was made from a recycled aluminum bike wheel. The wheel mounts directly to the wall through the hub using a hollow wall anchor and gives the illusion that it is floating off the wall. The clock movement is a high torque German quartz movement and is attached to a set of rear cassette gears to conceal the movement. The movement is attached to the wheel by hanging it off of a screw coming out of the hub, and runs on 1 AA battery, included.” Find it now 119$US.

Girard Perregaux for Ermenegildo Zegna Centennial Watch

Selectism - Girard Perregaux for Ermenegildo Zegna Centennial Watch

In celebration of Ermenegildo Zegna’s 100th anniversary, the company commissioned watch maker to produce 100 units of the timepiece seen above. 00 o 00 blog has questioned the timepiece chosen which looks similar to another Perregaux piece. “As much as i love zegna’s watch, i beg to question why is the watch so similar to Girard Perregaux’s ‘1966 annual calendar and equation of time,’ hence the previous connotation of ‘created by, but not created with’.”

Either way, the rose gold crown will delight out editors in Berlin.
