Selectism - SUPER "Randagio" Sunglasses for Barneys

A Barneys exclusive from my Italo brothers at SUPER. The Randagio model is a between season special which is part of a small initiative by the brand to test the waters on innovative looks. What should expect from the Randagio? ”A puma acetate skeleton hand covered in top notch leather with refined gold details that complete the elegant and strong design.” Love the square finish with leather wrap. Looks impressive on sight.

Selectism - J.Lindeberg Spring/Summer 2011 "The Modern North"

“The Modern North” is the name given to the J.Lindeberg Spring/Sumer 2011 collection. The collection is one which works for the urban cyclist – the gentleman who jumps on his bicycle and expects his garbs to work with him on the bike as well as off.

“Fast becoming the chosen form of city transport for the modern and aware man, cycling, and the function found in utility clothing, evolved from a specific purpose. J.Lindeberg’s focus is to adapt these concepts and apply them to fulfill the demands of the modern world….Proportions are streamlined, shortened and tailored closer to the body. Innovative Japanese fabrics are bonded together, constructed with taped seams and ready to perform. Aviator inspired hoods and military patchwork detailing provide protection.”

selectism - (capsule) NY | Palladium Summer Boots for Spring 2011

Palladium have cracked the secret of the summer boot. The classic Palladium boot (heavily covered around these parts already) will be converted next Spring to a light Summer model. How? With the switch to a full EVA outsole, which forms the base a ripstop nylon upper lined in moisture wicking dri-lex (and given a seersucker look) sits atop. The whole weighs 10.2 oz.

Pretty impressive.

Selectism - Amsterdam Shoe Co. Spring/Summer 2011 Deck Oxfords

The Amsterdam Shoe Co. previews two new colorways for Summer 2011. While it is a bit away, it is still good to have an idea of where you may be spending your money in the future. Four colorways in total will be dropping for Summer 2011.

“The Deck Oxford has an upper made of thick cotton canvas and the lining is made of a lighter cotton canvas. The shoe has genuine suede accents on the toe and the throat which are tonal to the color of the upper. The laces are round to emphasize a nautical feel and will be executed in white for all colorways. The eyelets are metal.” Amsterdam Shoe Co. models for Summer 2010 are available now exclusively through the Jefferson Hotel in AMS.

Selectism - Wallpaper*, J. Ellery Collaboration Bell & Ross Watch

Wallpaper* has received some great press on their August “Handmade Edition” issue. In conjunction with the issue drop, the magazine worked with Brown’s founder, Jonathan Ellery and watchmaker, Bell & Ross on a limited edition timepiece.

“A conceptual spinning sculpture on the wrist” is how Ellery describes the watch. Telling the time requires mastering of its rotational rhythms, the explosive “big bang” motif comes together only twice in 24 hours as the circles rotate. This piece is based on the BR01-92 Radar model.

Nigel Cabourn Trousers

Selectism - nigel-cabourn-braces-trousers-01

Braces (or suspenders, depending on your neck of the woods) are one of those items that are ruined by bad associations. Much like the bow-tie before it got all trendy again, braces are primarily associated with the likes of Larry King – who, as far as we know, is no style icon. But we think they can – and do – look great on most people. Oh, and they’re Nigel Cabourn so the quality goes without saying. (Opening Ceremony)
