Selectism - Comemai iPad Sleeves

It is nice to see some simple iPad cases hitting the streets which work more like a foilio than a daybag. Comemai has a few in their line which look great and are made from recycled materials which are seated in polyurethane. From magnetic tape, to magazine and newspaper snippets, the Comemai sleeves protect your iPads and offer a solid alternative to the leather or zip up pouches. Selectism - Final Home Nylon Hooded Parka

It is nice to see FInal Home popping up in more retailers Stateside. Opening Ceremony has a line on the Japanese quai-tech wear line which produced, at times, complex garments, using high quality “tech” fabrics. Their nylon hooded parka showcased here is a great example of a lightweight tech heavy jacket which should protect you from the casual rain or even sun.The full shell itself is very much a storage compartment (when necessary) through length wise zippers. In the cold, you can throw in some other material into the pockets for a warming effect.

Selectism - Indigofera for Burg & Shild Blanket

This 100% Norwegian wool blanket from Indigofera is exclusive to Burg & Shild Men’s Store in Berlin. It gives those American made ones a run for their money. Stretch it out over the floor or wrap yourself in the cold weather. We will note that the color in these photos does not show the true shine of the reds. A great piece.

SNAP Organic Spirit

selectism - SNAP Organic Spirit

Following the success of their ROOT spirit, Art in the Age has announced the second in their line-up of historically informed organic spirits. SNAP takes its name from the Pennsylvania Dutch ginger snap cookie and will be available from Hitmewine beginning in August.

About SNAP -

The formula for SNAP is based on the Pennsylvania Dutch recipe for ‘lebkuchen’, or ginger snap. ‘Lebkuchen’ dates back to the late 1600s, when German Anabapists, seeking freedom from state-mandated religion, settled in present-day Pennsylvania. These original colonists were farmers who used hearty blackstrap molasses to sweeten their baked goods and meals, since refined sugar was not readily available. Neighboring British colonists considered this practice to be crude and unsophisticated, but today we know otherwise. Blackstrap molasses retains vital mineral complexes and antioxidants that are later stripped away during the white sugar refining process. The full-bodied, earthy flavor of molasses is unlike any other sweetener. Although the Pennsylvania Dutch did not distill ‘lebkuchen’, Art in the Age has succeeded in reviving this nostalgic recipe and fully realizing its potential as a unique distilled product.

ACNE’s New London Shop

Selectism - ACNE's New London Shop

ACNE cracks open the doors on their new shop on Dover Street in London today. GQ UK was able to get inside for some early looks at the build out. “Spread over four floors and a basement, the store’s design pays tribute to the building’s former role as an art gallery. Think stark studio-style décor – white walls, Danish pine floors, Swedish concrete – and a huge number of works on display, including work from resident artists Jean Cocteau, Jeremiah Goodman and Katerina Jebb (represented here by a scan of a naked breast signed by Hugh Hefner).” GQ UK also sat down with ACNE creative director, Johnny Johansson for a quick interview.

First Look | The New Randolph Engineering P3 Sunglasses

Selectism - The New Randolph Engineering P3 Sunglasses

Massachusett’s own Randolph Engineering is one of the few remaining sunglasses manufacturers in the United States. Many know their frames and eyewear from movies like “Taxi Driver” and  the AMC shoe “Mad Men.” Truth is they offer a great deal more than what most know about. Their hunting and shooting frames are among the world’s best. Try them out.

But while we’re talking about fashion, we should highlight a look at a slightly redesigned version of their popular P3 model, which were originally intended for use in submarines. The new style of the P3 was developed with a larger eye size and extended temple for a more general fit. Bright chrome option and skull temples are also now available.

SNS Herning Element Sweater

Selectism - sns-herning-element-jumper-01

We’d have put this up earlier, but we wanted to buy it first. Call us selfish if you want, we’d prefer it you called it what it was – smart. We featured this SNS piece at full price, so it’s only fair that we feature it when it’s at the ridiculous price of £44. There’s plenty of sizes left too, so get to it and pull your trigger finger out. (Tres Bien)

Chronicles Of Never ‘Into The Voided’ Spring/Summer 2011

Selectism - chronicles-of-never-spring-11-01

While a beard and long hair is seemingly all it takes this season to make it as a model, there’s some brands who want a little more from their models. Apparently, Chronicles of Never wanted a little too much as they ending up cutting out the middleman altogether – as you can see from the above pictures. They describe this collection as a ‘departure from the dark’, something that’s has clouded over (pun intended) Chronicles since its inception.

Take a leap to see a couple more model-less shots.

Opening Ceremony M1 Desert Boot

Selectism - opening-ceremony-pony-desert-boot-01

Opening Ceremony recently decided to feature themselves as the store’s ‘featured designer’. Cheekiness of that choice aside, they do have a couple of very interesting things in their AW10 collection, including these pony desert boots. This style has been doing the rounds for a few seasons now – so you should have had all your jokes by now – and this version is probably the most suited for a pair of indigo denim. (Opening Ceremony)

Take a leap to see more of these shoes.
