Martyn Bal Autumn/Winter 2010

Selectism - martyn-bal-autumn-2010-01

With his recent appointment as Design Director for Gianni Versace Menswear (he just completed his first collection at the company), it’s fair to say that Martyn Bal has gone from strength to strength in the last few years. The collection’s strength has always been their outerwear and, as you can see from the pictures above, that’s set to continue with this collection. The press release states that the campaign images showcase ‘the duality of the Martyn Bal man’ – they also show any girlfriends that this collection is the perfect pretend gift for your other half.

Take a look at the rest of the campaign after the leap.

Keds Century Collection “Call of Duty” Champion

selectism - Keds Century Collection "Call of Duty" Champion

Going decade by decade through the 20th-Century, Keds has been slowly rolling out themed versions of the classic “Champion” sneaker. Reaching the 1940s, the Keds Century Collection draws on military inspiration, for their “Call of Duty” version. The heavy canvas uppers, in muted colors, attempt to hit on the seriousness of the time. Keds says “A sense of patriotism is embodied in the shoes architecture as they reflect a country motivating and involving its citizens in the war effort urging them to “Produce for Victory.” As such, it isn’t just a military call, but the importance of home front industry that pushes the design.

Like all Keds Century Collection models, the “Call of Duty” is available exclusively from The Original Sneaker.

Champagne Cork Coat Hook

Selectism - champagne-cork-coat-rack

It’s been a while since we featured design related products here, so we thought we’d get back into the swing of things with this coat hook. We’re all about the unexpected and this champagne cork coat hook is the very definition of that. It’s one of those ’so simple it’s genius’ products; although a more cynical man might call it ’so simple why don’t you make it yourself’ product. Either way, it’ll be a talking point in any household. (Hidden Art)

Anderson’s For Pointer Belts

Selectism - Pointer-x-Andersons-Belts-00

High Snob turns us onto news of Pointer’s collaboration with Anderson’s. Pointer are a brand both the HS and SL man can embrace and these belts, made by those Italian belt specialists, are a great example of why. The multicoloured elastic version is great for a super subdued outfit, whilst the canvas version is better for those (slightly) smarter days. (Fuss)

04. Happy Birthday! Delonte West’s Craziest Moments

‘Birthdays are the one day out of the year where everyone has the right to do crazy shit without any regrets. For Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West, that kind of fuckery can go down whenever, not just his born day—dude’s done everything from (allegedly!) smashing  LeBron’s mom, riding his three-wheeler packing an arsenal in a guitar case, and even spittin’ hot bars in the KFC drive-thru. So, in celebration of his 27th b-day here are Delonte West’s craziest moments…’ (Complex)

Selectism - Han Kjøbenhavn Autumn/Winter 2010 Apparel

Han Kjøbenhavn is famous for their eyewear but for Autumn 2010 they turn their attention back to apparel for a moment by ”reconstructing the design” of clothing from the 1950’s. The collection consists of new fits and rugged construction. It is an everyman collection which offers very classic garments which have been re-imagined with details and cut.  Check the US Bomber jacket with an indigo lining. Your white t-shirt will fear it.
