Selectism - Mark McNairy for Weejuns Shoes for Spring 2011

Seen before on our brother site, the McNairy for Bass Weejun collection takes the MM aesthetic and applies “premium” leathers it to classic silhouettes. Our favorite would be the suede varieties seen above applied to the “decker.”

More looks at the Mark McNairy for Weejuns Shoes for Spring 2011 after the click.

  1. HLDM:

OK. I admire Mark’s aesthetics. That said: Derivative. I know folks used to accuse Ralph Lauren of that, but he always had vision of something greater in the American experience. Taking the LL Bean blucher moc and putting it in white buck? Check out Ralph in the early ’90s. I think he has a great PR man in Michael Williams, and I appreciate his references to gentlemanly dress, but let’s put his “design” credos into perspective. Props to Harbour (owners of the Bass license) for going after a hot designer to flog their line.

If you want the real deal, hit the boys at Eastland for Made in Maine credibility. They have been doing it for years.
