Hostem, the east end store which stocks everything from Visvim to Julius, are hosting an installation in collaboration with design duo Jamesplumb. Called the ‘one room hotel’, the installation is, errr, a one room hotel designed by the two for the London Design festival. Working as an installation by day and genuine hotel space by night, prospective guests will have to win a night at the space by convincing folks that they deserve it. The project launches at the same time as the design festival, on the 18th of September. You can apply for a stay at the hotel at the One Room Hotel minisite.

I admire the concept of the one room hotel. I would not hesitate to apply to win a night there, if I lived in London or were visiting during the festival dates.
