Over the years, I have owned my fair share of Denon hardware. They’re cassette dupicators kept me busy before I discovered DAT player decks – which many people still use to this day. Now in celebration of their 100th anniversary, Denon is releasing a series of new components including this direct drive DP-A100 turntable. The specs are on point for a direct drive table. For those looking for more info on the design: “The DP-A100’s beautiful cabinet has been made with sliced veneer of natural wood and given a multi-coat finish similar to lacquer to produce a deep glossy luster.” Also includes a lovely brand book. The “Pierre peaked-lapel blue micro-stripe cotton blazer with lambskin accents” shown above is a beautiful take on the common blazer. We applaud their use of leathers in accenting classic pieces.

Danish brand Norse Projects and Manchester’s Oi Polloi have combined forces to produce a rather nice parka.

Steve Sanderson, owner of Oi Polloi, says of the parka, “For me, it’s all about rambling, walking and camping in mid to late seventies, it’s the kind of jacket the old guys would be wearing. At the time we thought they looked pretty cool. The jacket we found and chose to use for inspiration is one my favourite outerwear pieces. It was in part designed by a legendary British mountaineer Chris Bonington… we love that it’s cotton, just using 2 layers. A superb simple design. Also, the hoods a great shape and the length a little longer than most jackets – but not so long as to make it a fully fledged mod parka.”

As most folks can tell, we’re big on layering. And now we’re entering september (we’re waiting for cold weather like a kid waits for Christmas) we can actually get away with heavy duty layering without sweating buckets. This Kolor blazer is well suited for early autumn layering, but heavy enough to deal with a bit of cold, but not so heavy you feel like you’ve entered a sauna whenever you step in an area with heating.
