You couldn’t make up a more blogtastic collaboration than this one. It’s basically the blog version of the Expendables (except no one’s on steroids – we think). So what about the boots themselves? Well, we like them. The use of an slightly different shade on the leather sole is a nice touch and using both grain and calf leather gives it a little edge. The height of the boot will be a bit shocking to anyone not used to boots that high, but aside from that it’s a great, timeless boot (and not that new school, not so timeless kind of timeless either). Taking a quick break from highlighting the futures market, we take a look at the autumn/winter 2010 shirting collection from Won Hundred. The Danish brand happily plays with pastel tones – green, blue, purple, and red the chosen flavors.

Minimally detailed, the shirts have a single button enclosure to the chest pocket, a pocket that sits nicely along the full plaid lines of the shirt body.

The Twist table collection was designed by German studio Formstelle for Zeitraum. I love the angular flow of the legs, which have terrific depth and a nice taper running from top to base. The tables (and I’m only showing one here) can be made in American Oak or Walnut.

We’re continuing our ‘we wish it was Autumn’ series with these Alden for Museum Ark make-ups. Shoe obsessives (like us) are already thinking about winter boots – preferably the kind that can deal with a bit of rain, sleet and snow. These Alden’s would do the trick, although you’ll need to get your proxy on (and have rather small feet) to be able to pull the trigger on these. (Museum Arks)

So this Alex Wang menswear line is going pretty well isn’t it? We had our suspicions that it’d be overpriced tripe when it was first announced, but it’s not bad at all. Take this bomber jacket for instance. It’s simple, wearable and at $175, it’s on par with any boring coat you could get at J. Crew. (Opening Ceremony)

“Following a summer of slick and snazzy sports ads celebrating athleticism in various forms (though mostly football), Puma has released this spot championing the ‘after hours athlete’, fuelled on beer and kebabs rather than Lucozade and half-time oranges… The ad is created by Droga5 ad agency in New York, and directed by Ringan Ledwidge.” (CR).

02. ‘Fish Forms: Lamps By Frank Gehry’ Opens Aug. 29 At Jewish Museum

“The Jewish Museum will present a selection of colorful, luminous lamps designed by internationally renowned architect Frank Gehry in “Fish Forms: Lamps by Frank Gehry,” on view from August 29 through October 31. This exhibition also explores the significance of fish imagery in Gehry’s work. The lamps will be displayed in near darkness to create a gallery of glowing sculptural fish lit from within.” (Bee).

04. Kings Of Leon turned down ‘Glee’ and ‘Ugly Betty’ slots

We have showcased a variety of the bison leather goods, with the exception of these belts outfitted with ballistics grade ceramic buckles. The surprise of the (capsule) show in Las Vegas for me was easily the appearance of Japan’s John Bull line. As we mentioned back in July 2009, John Bull simply builds excellent garments for both men and women. Unfortunately, show floor images will never do the line justice and for this reason we’ll be coming back with much better looks into their Spring 2011 collection. For the moment, we’re share a few views. The wash and finish on all these garments sells them. Notw how the yarn naturally twists these shirts.
