Coming in October, Gestalten’s latest look at typography, Hyperactivitytypography from A to Z, promises an entertaining introduction to and review of lettering in all its complexity. The book takes inspiration from children’s books, giving how to lessons through fun activities. These activities are designed to teach novices and test the skills of experts.

A nice approach, and sure to be a solid addition to any typography library.

A.P.C. sends word that their new suit line has hit store domestically in Los Angeles, and New York.The line includes suits, shirting, ties, and bowties. A.P.C. offers “two different jackets depending on the thread used for the fabric. Special care was given to the inner details…  Two fabrics are used specially for this line: a dashing black and navy blue woollen cloth, and a classical cloudy flannel. A new more formal shirt is also to be found, and it comes in a choice of different fabrics, including a unique poplin that was made in France.”

Jardan, a Melbourne-based furniture making outfit, enlisted the talents of Nick Garnham and Rod Carlson to create the Archie Chair. The duo draw inspiration from the casual, relaxed nature of Australian porch life (note: I am not exactly sure what that entails) and build from solid American Oak. Traditional joinery techniques are utilized, which creates a nice little detail where the legs hit the arms of the chair.

The Lexus LFA is what some consider to be the street super car of the moment. To keep that momentum running, Lexus has teamed with TUMI on some luggage to celebrate… well… the LFA. “Each is made of aluminum and carbon fiber, and each has a specific purpose.
