Many have been waiting for the Lanvin accessories to hit doors and by the looks of it, the time has arrived. Lanvin’s Camo Print tote bag was one of the most talked about pieces this July in Berlin. The bag is a solid offering with a sub $1k pricetag. Aloha Rag has them.

We’ve been planning a video based series ever since we did our letterpress video. It’s taken a while, but we can finally present to you the Selectism sessions. Sessions is a music based series, focusing on bands we like here at SL.
We’re kicking off the series with Passarella Death Squad, who’s music and clothing was perfect for us. Their aesthetic isn’t the prevailing ‘woodsman-in-a-starbucks’ look that’s hot right now, but we’ve always liked their t-shirts and their ready to wear collection takes the brand to new heights. And there’s not a honest fabric in sight. The video finds out about the brands new ready to wear collection (Danny’s wearing a varsity from their new collection), their music project and the brand’s origins.
If you want to see the video in a larger size, go to our features page, where you can see it in all its HD glory.
If you’re at work, take a leap to see some stills from the video.
A man who rolls with his own humidor is a serious gent. A man who rolls with a RIMOWA Travel Humidor is well beyond the usual “baller.” “The humidor features an aluminum shell with RIMOWA’s signature grooved surface, while the interior is lined with high quality cedar wood. Thanks to the natural cedar wood’s abilities to absorb and regulate humidity, the wood guarantees a constant climate within the humidor. Cedar wood also positively affects the flavor and supports gestation of the cigars.”
Oh, how I desperately need this in my life – except I wouldnt be packing cigars…

Namamica has some strong design behind them. The North Fact Purple (Japan) team has their hands in this line, including this field jacket which we love. “The Field Jacket Comes in a water proof wool blend fabric. Closed with buttons and big hunting style hand hiding pockets on the front. Gore Tex and taped seams so it will keep you dry no matter the weather conditions. Nanamica fits small so size one up.” Tres Bien has them.

From Will Leather Goods: “In Chapter One of our video lookbook, “The Product of Work,” our field investigators Casey and Nich visit the studio of Joel, a weaver who works on traditional looms to create inspiring rugs and wall hangings. Featured are the Liverpool and Lennon bags.” (via mensmentore)
Big news from the Great White North. “Canadian-based clothing retailer Roots recently collaborated with prominent writer and visual artist Douglas Coupland on a range of items from apparel, accessories, leather goods to design items, furniture and original art. Best known as the internationally best-selling author of “Generation X”, “All Families Are Psychotic”, “JPod” and for his art creations, this is the first time Coupland has designed fashion wearables.”
Colette has taken the collection, which will launch in September.

These magnificent acrobatic ladies are among the Working Stiffs on display at the Queens Art Museum through October 3, 2010. Drawing from the institution’s photography collection, 50 images make up the exhibition, each with a different view of what it is to work. The photographs cover great cultural and geographic ground. The works also cover both the 19th and 20th centuries. Among the selected photographs, some are by famed artists – Lewis Hine, Dorothea Lange, Reginald Marsh – and others by lesser knowns. In total, the collected material works to celebrate diversity of occupation and place – fitting in New York’s most diverse borough. More information about the exhibition can be found at QMA.
A selection of works from Working Stiffs may be found at Curated.
Ok, so we broke our own rules. Technically John Woo (not the director) isn’t a blogger, but his Star Wars pics appeared on so many blogs we thought he was suitable. Our oh-so-technical rules aside, we asked John to give a star wars character a ‘fit from our most recent seven days feature. He fitted up C3P0 in the this outfit, so if you’ve ever wanted to see what 3PO would look like in Soulland, Perks & Mini, Norse Projects and Springcourts, now’s your chance.
We’re on our jacket ’steeze’ this morning and this Barbour jacket is fulfilling our winter coat needs. It’s not really suitable for right now (unless you like sweating) but it’ll be great when the weather takes a bad turn. (Oi Polloi)
