We know, we know – Watanabe’s been all over the net the past few days. But we still like this piece, so we’re gonna feature it regardless. We can hear the sound of people complaining that Watanabe’s specialness (that’s a word, honest) is being ruined by being plastered over every blog, but as long as the prices remain high – and at 935 euros they still are – Watanabe will never reach the overkill levels of, say, a Barbour quilted jacket. But as various men with wandering eyes have said, there’s nothing wrong with just looking sometimes. (Tres Bien)

02. Grace Coddington Is Working on a Memoir
“Vogue creative director Grace Coddington is riding out her September Issue movie fame with a new project that is much classier than reality TV. ” (The Cut)
03. C.O.E Interview, Sergei Sviatchenko: The Close Up & Private Paintings
“The beauty of contemporary style is interpreted in a different form, inviting us to consider the intricacies of fashion from an alternative medium.” (Components of Enthusiasm)
04. My Favourite Things #39
“Back on the topic of fake heritage, this is, of course, my fake Mao suit. It’s a style I have always liked but I doubt I could ever wear.” (This is Naive)
Well why not. Why not get some action shots of Collection 3 from our favorite sock brand, Happy Socks. Backyard Bill shoots them in the California desert it would seem. Socks have never been cooler. Check them out.

Fans of the Assouline “Ultimate Collection” will enjoy this look into the first 25 years of the Tommy Hilfiger brand. “On the occasion of the brand’s anniversary, this monumental edition from Assouline’s Ultimate Collection reveals the work and the man, whose own life-loving philosophy is at the root of all his designs. The book uses a photo-album format to capture the essence of a designer who has never been one to put a barrier between fashion and life.” The 144 page book is “is bound by hand and comes in linen case with an embroidered Tommy logo patch.”
GQ brings us a look at the new J. Crew Men’s Shop on Madison Ave. “The two-story store, which opens to the public this afternoon, makes its home on the site of a former bank. Besides the façade, and a vault which now houses hand-selected vintage pieces, the fixtures from the space’s financial past are no longer intact. In their place are all of the lived-in and comfortable items you’ve come to love from J.Crew: coffee table books from the likes of Malcolm McLaren and Robert Longo, and imported Japanese fashion magazines; limited-edition collaborations and matured-to-perfection vintage finds; and a few items that will be sold exclusively at the UES location.”
Florian has a wide assortment of future-forward men’s jewelry (some work for the women as well), but I’m fond of the “anodized leather” necklace. The chain reveal under the leather is great. “This piece is one of the LEATHER AND CHAIN designs from Florian’s Fall 10 ‘Animalia’ collection. Biker and Goth subcultures are reinterpreted through a series of necklaces combining leather and chain.” Oki-ni has them and more.

We saw these at (capsule) show and decided to wait on some good stock images of their excellent swim trunks. New York’s Onia is already stocked in various doors throughout NYC and beyond. For those not familiar with the swim line, you’ll love their use of Japanese fabrics. The “Calder” is shown above. “The Calder is your signature beach short, simple yet sophisticated in the finest technical and waterproof fabrics sourced from Japan. This short was produced using a cotton/nylon fabric with a super comfortable yet durable net lining”
Not for this Jeffrey – for the shops! The PRO-Keds for Jeffrey models come in three colorways and will retail for $110. The look is premium but keep the distinct PRO-Keds flavor. These may be a good fit for you.

When I wrote about the 100th Anniversary of the Pendleton Round-Up, I never imagined the event would soon boast an official fragrance.
Launching officially on September 15, Let’er Buck Cologne “is the cowboy spirit that was captured at the first Round-Up in 1910.” The scent combines citrus notes, soft woods, and a base of white amber. Sponsoring a few keynote bronco-busting athletes, Western Crossings (the folks behind Let’er Buck) “is commited to embracing the the authentic cowboy experience” and all the legend of the Wild West.
Let’er Buck has also partnered with Tough Enough to Wear Pink, a grass roots cowboy campaign to fight breast cancer.
A fine sweater which different looks depending on the direction you hit it. The color block piece from the Dunhill by Jim Jones collection apply matching to the ringer neck and sleeves while the front and back panels contrast one another. OC has them domestically in the U.S.A.
