Selectism - Howlin by Morrison "Harrison" Shawl Collar Sweater

Some more cold weather wear in line with our sweater obsession at the moment. Scotland’s Howlin by Morrison steps up. “Here’s a Fair Isle pattern sweater made from amazingly soft pure new wool with shawl collar and leather buttons. Fit is slim and sleeves are narrow. Knitted in Scotland.” Tresbien has them.

selectism - Deus Autumn 2010 Knits and Sweats

Our favorite Australian motorcycle guys, Deus, have released their Autumn 2010 line. It’s cool, casual, Saturday afternoon in the garage gear… and, that’s a vibe we can totally buy into. The collection includes a mix of crews (like the above logo sweat) and hooded pieces. A solid balance of simply branded and printed material is also struck.

Head to the jump for a full look at the Deus knits and sweats.

J.Crew Opens Men’s Shop in Boston

Selectism - J.Crew Opens Men's Shop in Boston

Nice one bruv. J. Crew finally escapes from New York to lay down their first men’s store off the island. Boston gets the nod – and rightfully so. This city (I spend lots of time in Boston) is probably an even more appropriate location for their take on menswear than NYC is. It is one of the largest university towns in the nation and is filled with gents looking to step up their game. Boston needed this. Best of all students get a 15% discount; a nice goodwill gesture. The J. Crew Men’s Shop in Boston can be found in Copley Square.

Linus Bicycles Market Bags

Selectism - Linus Bicycles Market Bags

Interbike was where we first were introduced to Linus Bicycles last Autumn. Linus, with their strong pricepoint and classic cycling look, has moved its way up the casual enthusiast market. Their “Market” bags are only but a small extension of their mainline of bicycles, but well worth a look. “Rugged waxed canvas with oil skin leather, and solid brass hardware. this bag is tough but with looks to match. Perfect for the market or a sleep over, carry it in with a shoulder strap, or roll up the sides when not in use. Available in navy or army green.”

Selectism - Maison Martin Margiela Online Shop Opens Oct.1

Well now… from an email blast which reached many today, MMM is opening their online doors or “e-boutique” on Friday October 1. For those with a “private screening” code, you can get in there today. It is fascinating how MMM can make the x-windows theme work for a luxury brand. Nerds (pardon the blurry image above – it was pulled from their online video).

A few more screenshots from inside the forthcoming Maison Martin Margiela online shop after the jump.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Memovox International Colette Watch

Selectism - Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Memovox International Colette Watch

Colette seems to work with the very best. Their latest collaborative effort with Jaeger-LeCoultre looks to be a massive one with an extreme limited unit count of three! “I do so very much appreciate that very special wristwatches often find their way in to the display cases at Colette.   Most recently it seems that Jaeger-LeCoultre has created a special Master Memovox International for the Parisian concept store.  It is part of a project by Thomas Erber and is named Cabinet de curiosité — a random collection of fine oddities.   Special about this watch vs. its “standard” brother is the light blue “Colette” notation on the dial and the matching accented stitching on the strap.” (perpetuelle)

Cast of Vices Collection No.3

Selectism - Cast of Vices Collection No.3

The cast of Vices jewelry collection is clearly not looking to be subtle when interpreting the idea of personal “vices.” What you get in a direct reminder of all those little helpers that either get you through the day or have lead to more extraordinary experiences. However you “take” it, you can be sure that Collection No.3 from Cast of Vices is sure to be talk city. We love the inclusion of the fly.

Now go watch Green Velvet’s “La La Land” for a reminder of those “thrills.”

BOAST Relaunched for Autumn 2010

Selectism - BOAST Relaunched for Autumn 2010

East Coast U.S.A.’s racquet sports brand, Boast, has relaunched for the Autumn 2010 season. Some background on the line in case you are not familiar, which may be the case seeing as much of their wears was previously only sold through racquet sport clubs.

“In 1973, Bill St. John, the bold tennis pro at Greenwich, CT’s Field Club, set out to create an athletic apparel brand unlike any before. St. John was inspired by similarly defiant athletes of his time, like John McEnroe and Jimmy Connors. As Americans began to exert their excellence on the tennis court, St. John felt it was time to challenge European brands at their own game.”

We know you love that emblem.

AJ Stephans Beverages

selectism - AJ Stephans Beverages

Labeled Boston, made in Fall River, AJ Stephans makes one hell of a ginger beer. It is one of roughly nine flavors the firm produces… to be honest, the only one we’ve tasted… and enough to suggest their claim of “New England’s Best Tonic” might worry some of the family owned soda brands in Connecticut.

While Dark n’ Stormy season might be ending for some, we recommend a last hurrah and a tango with AJ Stephans.
