Selectism - Thorogood for Epaulet Horsehide No. 685 Boot

NY”s Epaulet gets involved again with bootmaker Thorogood. “Introduced in the 1950’s, Thorogood’s No. 685 Boot was billed as the Job-Fitted Work Shoe for Farm Wear. Epaulet is proud to re-introduce this classic boot as an exclusive collaborative style! Using the original styling, we’ve updated the details with a few modern twists and created a rugged, handsome, long-lasting, and affordable piece of true Americana. Outside of its great history and lineage, we’re confident that this boot delivers more value than all of the similar products at this price point.

Each piece is meticulously crafted in Wisconsin with a rich brown Horsehide leather from Chicago’s famous Horween tannery and a Goodyear-welted cork-filled Neoprene sole. 144 units are available for Fall 2010 – all of which are exclusive to Epaulet. This boot will age beautifully over time and last for years. Its rich horsehide exterior will develop a unique patina that gets better the more you wear it. Here’s all the details

Selectism - Ultrasone Edition 10 Headphones with Sheepskin Leather Cups

Welcome to a new level in sound and price in luxury headphones which actually should sound amazing. “The [Ultrasone] Edition 10 is the first OPEN-BACK pair of Edition headphones by Ultrasone. The wings of a butterfly inspired the basic look. Ultrasone Edition headphones not only provide brilliant sound but couple that with best materials available. Precious Ethiopian sheepskin leather covers ear cups and head band. Enjoy the comfort of the balanced and matched dark brown sheepskin leather. This is the smoothest leather available. The noble metal matt ruthenium, which is known for its elegant look and durable properties, covers the ear cups. The decorative shiny warm finish of the ruthenium surface shows a variety of eye-catching reflections. The ear cups are emblazoned with inlays of decorous Zebrano wood.”

You’ll pay pretty for these. Seeing as the Edition 8 headphones run around $1400, expect to pay a bit more.

Selectism - Dunning Stretch Thermal Hoodie Jacket

It can be difficult to pivot yourself away from old habits in design. Dunning, known for their golf wear of the past has re-worked their styling and fits for a more modern “athletic” man. Their “stretch thermal hoodie” is a great example of this. “Designed to be an athlete’s go-to piece after long training sessions, this technical, two-pocket hoodie is made from a blend of polyester and spandex. The matte weave shell knitting process blocks wind while remaining highly breathable and offers permanent moisture management. Adjustable drawstring waist and full length camlock zipper.”

Transit Chairs and Tables by Boris Bally

Selectism - Transit Chairs and Tables by Boris Bally

There is a cold essence to these “Transit” chairs and table from Boris Bally. Without overstating the obvious, the use of the old transit signs works based on the colors and flair they give. I’m not so sure about sitting in them though.

“The transformation of  recycled street signs  celebrate a raw American street-aesthetic. The unique markings and patina were earned on the road. Created with the precision of Boris’ skill as a sculptor, jeweler and industrial designer, the pure lines of the chair perfectly offset the graphics of the recycled signage. Each edge is rounded to a smooth finish. Transit chairs are made individually (based on current signage stock) in Boris’ studio, NO two chairs are alike. The stainless steel hardware is rust proof. Recycled champagne corks inserted on the bottom of all chair legs protect floors and provide added stability.”

Selectism - uniforms-for-the-dedicated-anthem-jacket-01

We featured this jacket back in the day (word to Ahmad) and now it’s finally out in stores. We know we’re supposed to be ‘over’ varsity jackets but, as anyone who’s noticed our desert boot obsession, when we like something we like it for more than a season. Furthermore, this is more a varsity blazer as opposed to a varsity jacket, which makes the world of difference. (Coggles)

selectism - Denim Demon Bahha

When not modeling for Kangol, the duo behind Denim Demon still make time to design new garments and progress their Scandanavian tinged take on workwear. Their latest cut is the Bahha, described by Oskar Sommarlund as “A comfort fit with tapered legs, embossed reindeer antlers in the top button, hidden arcuate stitching on the back pockets and south sami felt logo.” The fabric is a 13oz Japanese Kurabo denim.

Full looks at the fit after the jump.

Pendleton for Opening Ceremony Quilted Jacket

Selectism - opening-ceremony-pendleton-quilted-jacket-01

The Pendleton/OC collab keeps on rolling with this quilted patchwork jacket. The first thing that stands out to us (aside from the $705 pricetag) is that it’s a patchwork patterns that’s relatively easy on the eye – losing some of the marmite-yness that most patchwork patterns have. You can also zip off the arms to make this  into a gilet, which is nice. (Opening Ceremony)
