Whites Otto Vintage Boots

Whites Otto Vintage Boots

White Boots deliver the first series of their Vintage collection. The 8″ lace up boot brings a “premium cowhide in 4 distinct colors, along with a full leather insole and midsole. They’ve “added a vintage look with a rubber 1/2 sole making it easy to resole and heel.” The boot offers a “goodyear welt construction and the ability to rebuild the boot and make it look like new.” The shoes offers a Vibram half sole, lace in tongue guard and laces, four rows of lock stitching and the boot comes in sizes 7-13. A well “weathered” boot without all the work. The boot is available at WhiteBoots. (gb)

Hard Graft Card Case

This eight card slot holder from the Hard Graft family of all things wool-like should retain heat when stored in your pocket. Two leather pockets store the cards and some cash. You can probably cram some other things in there as well. Simple and to the point. Maybe for you – maybe not.

Comme Des Garçons Junya Watanabe Man Hooded Jacquard Knit

We usually reserve these back shots on goods to the uniforms we dislike, but in the case of this CdG Junya Watanabe MAN hoodie, we use it for showcasing the loom work on the shoulder blades and arms. Fully knit the old way – and beautiful. (vendor)

032c Magazine “Rei Kawakubo” Issue

032c Magazine

Issue 20 of 032c has started landing in newsstands (more likely boutiques). The issue is stuffed (264 pages!) with some good interviews; though the David Simon interview on “The Wire” seems untimely to those in the U.S.A. who just viewed his Treme series. “John Waters on Comme des Garçons, and everything else you never thought you wanted to know about designer REI KAWAKUBO in our 40-page dossier. Arc’teryx takes menswear to new heights of performance with its new line, Veilance; Claude Parent is rediscovered as Paris’ last supermodernist; Hedi Slimane does Sterling Ruby in downtown L.A.; Rem Koolhaas discusses Moscow’s new Strelka Institute, Francesco Vezzoli gives us a look into Milan’s infamous club, Plastic, and David Simon, creator of HBO’s The Wire, talks anger and the American city in our segment on today’s unexpected places of discourse; Johannesburg provides a case study in African modernity” (colette)

Warby Parker for Steven Alan Eyeglasses

We’re big fans of Warby Parker over here. Their latest work for Steven Alan is a special makeup in a clear acetate in two models. They’re probably short run models so head over to the Steven Alan shops to “acquire.” “Just like the rest of the Warby Parker line the glasses and prescription lens are $95 right out the door and from each purchase one frame gets donated to someone in need”(acquire)

Vermont Sweetwater

curated mag - Vermont Sweetwater

Several years ago, Bob and his brother Rich Munch were drinking maple syrup. They both agreed that if mixed with carbonated water, freshly tapped maple syrup would provide the basis for a refreshing beverage. The idea stuck, and the Vermont Sweetwater Bottling Company was born.

The Munch brothers sought out a vintage Crown Cork and Seal Dixie bottler, which forms the backbone of the business. What began in 1996 as a single soda line – with a maple syrup seltzer – has blossomed into a family of 8 sweet beverages.
