Selectism - ds-dundee-tweed-jacket-01

D.S Dundee ‘dropped’ their latest collection recently and it’s been blowing up the internet world. So we felt it only fair that we pick out our choice pick from the collection. It’s a little more office ready than usual for us, but looking sharp never hurt nobody. (DS Dundee)

selectism - Aether Travel Bag

Aether’s first travel bag is waterproof, resistant to extreme temperatures, abrasion and cracks.  The bag is made of heavy duty composite material normally used on the skirts of hovercraft vehicles. In short, it is a tough piece with the same rugged function to refined environment sensibility we’ve come to expect from Aether.

The bag is complemented in the Winter 2010 line by two cashmere accessories – a woolen cap and a scarf.

All the Aether Winter 2010 accessories can be viewed after the jump.

Selectism - velour-adan-chino-01

We’ve always got room for some coloured chinos in our life, they’re of great help when one wants to look suitably snazzy (we’re not giving up on bringing this word back). These ones are by Velour and, although we’re not sure what colour they are, we are sure that they look good. (Opening Ceremony)

Folk White Rainmac

Selectism - folk-white-rainmac-01

Here’s one for the folks (geddit?) who like to make a statement. Especially a statement that says ‘I’m wearing a white coat and don’t look like a doctor’. If we had to be fussy (and we do) then we’d say that the pockets look a little high, meaning that you’ll be sure to end up elbowing innocent bystanders when you put your hands in your pockets. selectism - on-beyond-helene

01. I WISH THEY MADE THIS FOR GIRLS Vol. 4 | Helene (Pictured Above)

“The amount of times I’ve actually heard a girl say “I WISH THEY MADE THIS FOR GIRLS” when looking at boys’ clothes goes beyond memory. From that quote, I’ve begun a little Photo Series project with some of the most gorgeous women in my life. Done right, the series should have that inexplicable umph most guys feel when waking up and seeing a girl in his t-shirt and boxers. Dressed in my clothes, they will, one by one be featured on the blog.” (On and Beyond)

02. How to get street style snapped

“Getting photographed for street style blogs is steadily creating an entirely new form of celebrity. Ladies of the street, if you will. The pages of Jak & Jil, The Sartorialist, Mr Newton, Stockholm Street Style et al provide ample inspiration for what our mortal selves should strive to look like. No one else will admit this but I’ll go ahead and address a huge elephant in my pants: without the high saturation of street style blogs growing by the day, I likely wouldn’t know what Anna dello Russo even looks like or that she is always exhausting use of outrageous materials, shoulder pads, structured silhouettes and bow  adornments.” (The Man Repeller)

03. Boxer pops question despite loss

“Call him the ring man.

Vicente Escobedo picked the perfect spot to propose to his girlfriend.

The lightweight boxer from Woodland, Calif., was soundly defeated by Robert Guerrero on Saturday night on the undercard of Zab Judah’s fight against Lucas Matthysse. Undaunted, Escobedo dropped to his knee in the corner afterward and produced a tiny box and ring, asking Valerie Zarate to marry him. She said yes.” (ESPN)

04. Quarterback scores cheekiest ever touchdown

“A high school quarterback has scored what is almost certainly the cheekiest touchdown ever seen in the game of American football.” (Yahoo Sports via the inactive half of Style Salvage)

Bottega Veneta’s First Watch: BVX Watch

09 November 2010, 23.00 | Posted in Watches | 4 comments »

Bottega Veneta's First Watch: BVX Watch

Credit must be given to BV for working with Girard Perregaux to produce their first timepiece. It features an 18-karat rose gold movement. That’s “money.”

Bottega Veneta, best known for its high level of artisanal craftsmanship and logo-free take on luxury living, has partnered with the Swiss watch giant Girard Perregaux to produce its first watch, the BVX. As elegantly subtle as the house’s signature woven leather accessories, the unisex watch features a dark, brushed-titanium curved case with a brown face and a cigar-colored crocodile strap….But don’t let the sexy simplicity fool you: inside this chic exterior lies an 18-karat rose gold automatic movement made expressly by Girard Perregaux for Bottega Veneta.” (tmag)
