Flat Head Wabash Coverall Jacket

Selectism - flat-head-chore-jacket-02

We’ve discovered a liking for a coverall this season. Not because of any heritage reason, we just think they look good. That being said, this Flat Head coverall jacket will pass any heritage tests that you may have to undertake (we hear they’re being held in Urban outfitters – you have to grow a instantaneous beard and spout nonsense about how rugged you are). Calabrese Satchel

Selectism - calabrese-satchel-01

We’ve featured a fair amount of Calabrese lately and there’s good reason for that: they pay us bajillions in under the table deals they make good bags. This satchel is a little more work ready than their duffle bags (and a damn sight more comfortable too) so it’s great for the man in who needs a good looking bag for Christmas. Or failing that, for yourself. (Matches)

01. The best short films on the web

“From attention-grabbing promos to thoughtful documentaries, a new crop of directors is creating innovative and daring pictures that are cheap to make, easy to share, and finding an audience as never before. Here, we speak to those responsible for some of the best.” (Guardian).

02. Norman Rockwell’s America

“Norman Rockwell’s heart warming depictions of everyday life made him the best-known and most beloved American artist of the 20th century. He lived and worked through one of the most eventful periods in the nation’s history and his paintings vividly chronicled those times. Norman Rockwell’s America exhibits a remarkable collection of selected original art spanning his six decade career.” (DPG).

03. Solar-Powered Cargo Pants Provide Green Energy on the Go

“Solar powered accessories are on the rise, but clothing that can harvest energy from the sun isn’t something we see too often. A practical piece from their newly launched GO Collection, the Go Urban cargo pant by Silvr Lining includes a pair of built-in photovoltaic panels able to give you all the juice you need to keep your portable electronics jumping throughout the day. Composed of animal-friendly Ultrasuede, this casual and comfy cargo is lightweight, water-resistant, stain-repellent, and tough as nails. We think this could be a great piece for hitting the snowy and sunny slopes this winter!” (Inhabitat).

04. R. Kelly “Love Letter (Christmas Remix)” (above).

Thanks ACL.

Weihenstephan for Samuel Adams Infinium Ale

Food Columnist, Aaron Panone, writes about his new favorite brew…

I’m not a beer geek at all, but when one of my favorite breweries (Weihenstephan) teams up with one of my least favorite breweries, I get anxious to see the result. A week ago a friend dropped off a bottle of the limited edition Weihenstephan and Samuel Adams collaboration, the “Infinium Ale.” I haven’t cracked it open yet, and I’ll update the post when I do, but I just wanted to put it out there that this does exist and that it’s an interesting collaboration. The packaging was designed here in Boston by Adam & Co.and it looks amazing.
