Los Angeles based contemporary men’s brand, B:SCOTT, debuts their Fall 2010 collection, with the newly re-designed “Mock hoody” raincoat. The jacket is “fully lined and water resistant,” and is made of 60% cotton and 40% woven nylon. The shell is offered only in black and it is available at B:SCOTT.

Dazed profiles Henrik Vibskov’s latest “100 Days” travelling concept store. “The Pop-up store will open in Amsterdam at SPRSPACE for 100 days only, then travel around the major European capitals for a series of short-leases. Each store will be an experiment with spaces and installations. One-off pieces and clothes that were edited out last minute will be sold alongside collections, with SS11 hitting the store around the 50th day. Designer Takeshi Ohfuch continued to pull from old NYC with his latest Post Overalls offering. This quilted “calico stripe” vest is a solid example of the work. Made in N.Y., the vest may work for someone looking to finish off that Christmas Day look. Context has them.

Here’s a preview of a new Ralph Lauren timepiece which should make its debut in 2011 at SIHH. The Sporting Watch pulls inspiration from the 1938 Bugatti Typ 57SC Atlantic Coupe. “The dial color is a matte black galvanic with matte brown elm burl wood decoration.” I love the wood finish. The casing sits just under 45mm. A nice one. (timezone)

The V&A is gearing up for a grand retrospective of the life and work of Yohji Yamamoto, set to open on March 12, 2011. Spanning 30 years, the installation-based exhibition will feature some 80 garments. In conjunction with the show, the V&A will publish Yohji Yamamoto edited by Curator of Contemporary Programmes Ligaya Salazar.

Yohji Yamamoto is one of fashion’s continual innovators and this stunning book is a fascinating insight into his working approach and relationships with other creative practitioners. It places Yamamoto’s work in context and includes an insightful interview with Yamamoto, as well as a round table discussion with some of his key collaborators, including Nick Knight, Peter Saville and Marc Ascoli. Photographer Max Vadukul, who has been working with Yohji Yamamoto for over 25 years, is interviewed by Terry Jones and long time collaborator Masao Nihei contributes an essay on some of the wider influences on Yohji Yamamoto’s designs and their presentation. Beautifully illustrated using amazing photographs selected from the Yohji Yamamoto archive, from the likes of Nick Knight and Paolo Roversi, this is an invaluable resource for anyone with an interest in fashion and design.
