Umit Benan is on a roll and we’re glad to have been there from the start. Benan himself was born in Germany to Turkish parents has a way with styling his looks that works. For Autumn 2011, the collection spins a fresh take on classic styling of Italian fashion, but as usual, makes it his own. The short grey waistcoat above is on point. (gq)

England has been making boots for decades. Loake is a shoe company that has perfected the craft with 125 years under their belt. All handmade in England they show us a new shoe for the season. The “Loake Bedale” Brogue Boot is made with a “premium grain calf leather” and offers rubbers soles that are detailed with Goodyear welted construction. The boot is lined in leather and also has leather insoles. Offered in two colors Mahogony and Light Camel, the boot emits a real gentleman like design. With a typically impressive booth build out, the thrust of J. Fold’s Autumn/Winter 2011 offerings comes in the form of a new product line – belts. Delivering the same aesthetic – interesting material choices, bold colors, strong personality – the belts successfully complement the brand’s growing collection of wallets and briefcases.

Arcteryx has been pushing the envelope with their release of the Veilance Collection. With a strong emphasis on design and textile science, the company has been gaining lots of attention in the world of menswear. A refined take on a timeless piece the company offers their take on the blazer. The “SS01 Field Blazer” brings the technical styles of the company with a more urban styling and fit. The jacket offers a windstopper fabric with “brushed tricot backer, taped micro seams and vision zipper front.” The gusseted underarms and leakproof hand and chest pockets allow for added protection. Curated turns us onto this deceptive sofa.

Equipped with photorealistic wood grain print textile, the seat certainly fools the eye. The French are in, no doubt, need of change. An auspicious entry to last years World Cup ended in spectacular exit. A change in look is one way to begin resurgence.

Yesterday, with little fanfare, the French Federation announced a new partnership with Nike. Trading on the spirit of French elegance, the new National Team Kit comes in blue with a hit of red on the turn up sleeve. A true collar employs a standard simplicity, tying to traditions of French fashion.

Aside from style, the notable achievement of the kit is a furthering of Nike’s push towards fully sustainable athletic wear. 96% of the material is derived from recycled polyester, the remaining 4% of organic cotton. This makes the French Federation National Team Kit the World’s most environmentally friendly.

We’re still on that blazer search. Here’s another one to add to the list. If Margaret Howell followed more trends this’d be called a Margaret Howell X Harris Tweed blazer. But she doesn’t, so it’s just a regular blazer using Harris Tweed. She really missed a trick there. (Margaret Howell)

Debuting this week at (capsule), Sebago’s new inline collection of Filson collaborative footwear. Equipped with Vibram rubber soles, each of the six styles in the line are dressed for the harsher Autumn/Winter weather for which they are intended.

While Stussy’s technically streetwear, there’s nothing stopping you from wear a piece like this as a mid layer underneath something exceedingly smart. If we had an issue with this (aside from the fact that you’ll have to get in contact with Haven directly to get your mitts on it) we’d say that the pockets are a tad overbearing. But, nitpicking aside, we’re fans. (Haven)

In our ongoing mission to round out our wardrobe, we’ve been searching for good blazers. Guess what? this one fits the bill. Classic but not staid, it’s perfect for our tastes and is a piece we’re sure to still like in five years time. But it’s not in our size, so we’ve decided to share it with you. Aren’t we generous?
