Here’s something serious to offset our general frivolity. Saatchi & Saatchi launched a campaign, placing chopsticks that were pencils in various Chinese restaurants. The aim was to get people writing about human rights in China. Here’s the text from the pack in full:

“Tuck under thumb and hold firmly. Write the Chinese government to help end torture. Take further action at amnesty.org/china. Don’t let human rights violations by the Chinese government give China a bad name.” (Found by James)

Before anyone asks – no, we don’t believe in season appropriate clothing. Actually, we kinda do, but when retail insists it’s spring we go along sometimes. Unless you’re one of the lucky ones who live in a perma-warm climate, this polo is more wishful thinking than a solid purchase. It does look nice though. (Coggles)

Monocle premiered their newest venture on Bloomberg this weekend, a half hour TV show. You can watch it above in its entirety. Monocle have long been known for their interesting moves and this is yet another one that extends the brand into new dimensions. As for the show itself, if you’re a fan of Monocle you’re sure to love the show.

Riccardi Boston’s store blog gives their take on the current Junya blazers for Spring 2011. “For the past few seasons Junya has been straddling the line between uberpreppy college dropout and 12y/o aspiring deckhand.  Having been working with the Junya collection for the past 14 seasons I can easily see the a blazer that was once molded from recycled tapestries…or adorned with a detachable hood…or once in collaboration with brooks brothers…and then reversible..can now contain elements from seasons, but in a calm way.”

Here’s a quick look at some exclusive LACOSTE polo shirt for Japan’s Beauty & Youth. A few changes has been made for this collaboration – the biggest coming in a more fitted sleeve. They fit higher and slim down the normal silhouette found on a LACOSTE polo. Checked the nice dyed colors they used.

Japan’s Sunset Craftsman Co. takes their name from the sunny side of California living.  Each bag is hand-made (no sewing machines involved) and are crafted in the finest way possible by the Japanese. The detailing and colors do this bag collection well. As for getting it outside Japan, good luck. Let us know how. (anoutcommune)

While we have looked at the blanket work for Berlin’s Burg & Schild in the past, today we take a further look at the Indigofera blankets. They’re made in in a small village in northern Norway. The factory hand spins and dyes the yarn used to weave the blankets. They have a beautiful look and finish. A great addition to your home interiors and would even work as wall presentations.
