Red Wing Postman Oxford Shoes

Red Wing Postman Oxford Shoes

The current resurgence in “Blue-Collar Fashion” has hit the mainstream and one of the companies that has lead the way is Red Wing. They single handedly changed the look of modern man. Their work boots, chukkas and steel-toes paved America in the earlier years, but today the company grows again to show its craft. The Postman Oxford is just one example and features are “moldable insole.” How many shoes do you know offer this? Probably a couple, but this is a great design and will continue to look great with almost any outfit. There is no going wrong with a nice pair of black lace-ups so why not go with the Red Wing Postman Oxford. I have a friend that wears a similar pair but he has the traditional vibram sole on his. Chuck Norris LEGO Cubedude

01. The Revolution Will Be Instagrammed

“Twitter officially arrived when Captain Sullenberger sent US Airways flight 1549 splashing down into the Hudson. Instagram’s moment was last week, when forty-nine states—fully ninety-eight percent of American states—were doused with snow.” (gizmodo)

02. MoMA Spring/Summer 2011 Preview, Part II

“With over 125 products included in the new collection, selecting favorites from the MoMA Spring/Summer 2011 preview is no easy feat. In Part I, we sorted it out by limiting our picks to “things that look like other things,” but here you’ll find a more general assortment of nine items that we like for their form, function or both.” (coolhunting)

03. Floor in a Box

“‘Floor in a Box’ by Tarkett.” (notcot)

04. Chuck Norris LEGO Cubedude (above)

“The Lego Cubedudes helps you create a Chuck Norris exclusively for yourself. All that you need is a set of Lego blocks and a little time. Adding a little patience and skill will result in a Chuck Norris figure with all major details. Your figure will resemble the character to the extent that anyone familiar with Norris is sure to recognize it. It is true that getting exact details is not possible with rigid shaped blocks. However, the best efforts have been made here and the outcome is simply fantastic.” (waylou)

05. DJ Rupture’s Harlem Is Nowhere Mix MP3

“Every Sunday this summer we woke up early, showered the sweat off and then started to sweat again all through our journey towards the center of Harlem. First we’d bike across Bed-Stuy in its hour of rest, the tumble weed empty time after Saturday’s parties and before morning church service. Then we’d park and take a train, then a train then a shuttle bus to hang out on the sidewalkfor half of the day.(thefader)

Flathead Native Smoke Varsity Jacket

Flathead Native Smoke Varsity Jacket

The Flathead “Native Smoke” Varsity Jacket shows us the Japanese take on an American classic. The jacket’s outer shell is “Melton wool” and is crafted on older shuttle looms in Japan. The inner lining is made in a “Rayon Herringbone Till Lining” style. The classic traditional embroidery style, “Sagara”, is used on the front and back of the jacket. I had the chance to try on the jacket and it’s an warm piece that feels amazing on. The slim fit and shorter vertical length make it a true Flathead garment. This timeless piece will last a lifetime. Available at SelfEdge.

Land Rover Launches Defender X-Tech Edition

Autoblog (love) drops looks at the Defender X-Tech. Hells yes from the Brussels Auto Show. “Easily as tough as any Hummer or Jeep, the X-Tech is based on the Land Rover Defender – one of the most rock-solid rock-crawlers ever devised. It’s available in either silver, three-door Defender 90 form or in five-door Defender 110 long wheelbase in olive green, both offset by black roof, wheel arches, interior and new “saw-tooth” alloys. Not a major upgrade on the standard model, but just enough to give it the attitude it deserves.”

Edwin prepares for Autumn 2011 with a new top-tier collection – “The Overworks Factory.”  ”The Overworks Factory collection has been designed and developed with the early 20th Century aesthetic that helped shape early Edwin designs… Each piece in the collection comes from a particular era and would have had a specific usage. The fabrics used are being exclusively woven with the Nihon Menpu Japanese Mill, using low-tension and heavy 0z materials and old sewing machines. Denim is made the original way, utilizing non-sanforized, non-skew, non-singed shuttle denims which shrink from rigid. ” Note as they said: shrink to fit.
