Tenue de Nîmes, Andersen & Andersen Danish Fisherman Knit

Looking for a unique proper knit sweater? This take by Denmark’s Anderson & Anderson for Amsterdam’s Tenue de Nîmes may work “The heavy navy blue sweater is made from 100% Pure New Wool and comes in a limited run of 24 hand-numbered pieces. The sweaters have the traditional turtle neck and are completely symmetric. They can be worn with no regard to front and rear. The Andersen & Andersen sweater is embellished with a Dutch flag embroidery on the cuff. ” That subtle embroidery keeps it clean.

Brooks Islington Rucksack Backpack

More Brooks England goodness this week. Their latest is their take on the rucksack backpack. “It’s a bona fide big rucksack in terms of volume, but boasts such levels of adjustability on all sides that if travelling light, it will remain tight and snug to the rider’s back… When the straps are crossed as shown above, a level of comfort previously considered unreachable is attained by the wearer, releasing the attention to matters of locomotion instead.

Video | Trussardi 1911 Autumn/Winter 2011

YouTube Preview Image

“The Trussardi 1911 men’s collection for fall-winter 2011-12 pays homage to the Maison’s origins as an artisan glove manufacturer and celebrates Trussardi’s one hundred years of experience in leather-making. The collection is made exclusively of leather, which was an ambitious challenge for Milan Vukmirovic, who has been the Creative Director of the brand since 2008. Leather-working is the true nature of Trussardi that, in this case, perfectly reproduces th appearance and patterns of the most elaborate fabrics.”

Octopus Chair

Curated keeps on turning us onto stuff, here’s another one:

The Animal Chair collection constitutes a diverse range of species, from mammals to reptiles, and even including insects. Each creation retains the animal’s natural vitality whilst being totally biological accurate in their appearance. This collection is homage to these animals and the whole animal kingdom which inhabits our planet, as an attempt to reflect and capture the beauty of nature in each living thing.

Octopus Book: the Octopus Chair is the first piece of the Animal Chair collection, and it establishes a base and point of departure for the pieces to come.

The Spanish designer will take on lions, wales, and walrus in the near future.

Selectism - gingerland-guest-blog-01

It’s been a guest blogger heavy week for us and we’re gonna end it with a blog we’ve admired for quite a while, Gingerland. It’s not specifically menswear linked, but we check Sam Alden’s blog consistently for great images and general inspiration. So, with that in mind, we asked him to recreate three shots from some of our most recent features and here’s the results. We’re sure you’ll enjoy looking at them as much as week have.

The other two pictures are after the leap. You can click on each picture to enlarge it.
