"Basquiat" Book

Curated brings us new on a new Basquiat Book book covering the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat coming from Tashen.

“Written by Leonhard Emmerling, Basquiat Basquiat Book is forthcoming from Taschen’s 25 series. “From the streets of New York to the walls of its most prominent galleries, young graffiti artist Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988) was catapulted to international fame in his early 20s and died of a drug-overdose at 27. The subject of a feature film by fellow artist Julian Schnabel, Basquiat is one of the most admired artists to emerge from the 1980s art boom. This book explores his short but prolific career.” Drops March 15, 2011.

Pre-order from Amazon Basquiat Book.

Freemans Sporting Club Wool Winchester Trouser

selectism - Freeman Sporting Club Wool Winchester Trouser

Geared for winter, the wool iteration of the Winchester Trouser, Freeman Sporting Club’s staple chino, is produced in NYC of Japanese fabric. The slim fitting, flat front pant works in both casual and formal settings (well, not ultra formal). Buttons are genuine Corozo – made from the Tagua Nut and prized for button making since the 19th-century – which adds another touch of class to the garment.

Tricker’s Shoes and Boots for ASOS

Tricker's Shoes and Boots for ASOS

We’ve seen our fair share of Tricker’s works for many shops across the globe, but the ASOS editions – two boots and a pair of shoes – coming this February are indeed special. First, they’re running with a crepe sole which is not often seen on Tricker’s. They come off very well against the wedge shape. This change in the last make them almost completely different shoes from the normal Tricker’s. They are all, of course, handmade in the U.K. as well. Let us know what you think about them.

McIntosh MCLK12 Wall Clock

McIntosh MCLK12 Wall Clock

McIntosh is one of those long trusted audio component companies still producing their goods in the U.S.A (sure many others do as well but McIntosh has been there for the long haul). Their components are pricey and always will be – both new and used. Now, they bring the blue glow of their displays to a wall clock. “The result is the MCLK12 wall clock, which really looks like you simply hacked the front off a Mac power amp, and stuck it on the wall. The black glass front panel and large meters are still there, but instead of showing how many watts you’re cranking, the left meter shows the hours while the right meter gives you the minutes.” #sonasty (dvice)

Curated turns us onto this news:

“Adios LA finds Jon Jackson using billboards to poetic advantage. Unurth says of the project, “A classy way to leave a city. This is like the breakup-equivalent of Steve Powers’ Love Letter in Philadelphia.” Basically sums it all up”

FIRST LOOK | HAN Spring/Summer 2011 Clothing

The good folks at HAN sent over some exclusive first looks at their apparel for Spring/Summer 2011 which includes a new take on tapered denim and field jackets. “In our jeans range, we have added a rinsed wash 12,5 Oz red listed selvedge Okayama jeans fabric in a new fit called 50’s Zip fly which has a boxy top with a regular thigh and a tapered hem… Our Field Jacket is a fitted military classic. This style has been indigo over dyed and is made of cotton and flax.” Leather seems to be in order for Spring as well. HAN’s “heavy-washed-down” sheep’s leather Moped jacket is a symbolic gesture to Danish culture.
