It’s got all that stuff (that sweet, funky stuff) that Want Les are known for – 100% organic cotton and all that jazz – and it’s got all the compartments one man could wish for. It even comes pre-packaged with Monocle Alpino and Monocle magazine. That might not be true. It’s available soon (it’ll probably drop next week at the usual Want retailers).

Chauchat delivers looks from their Spring 2011 collection of double-layer neckties that look to bring new life to the classic necktie form by pulling inspiration from “60’s Op Art, and Magic Eye illusions.” ”C. Military inspired pieces can be done well or done perfectly. Engineered Garments did this remake of the “Duffle Backpack” the only way Engineered Garments does a piece: perfectly. Here they have”re-engineered” the military backpack or rucksack. The conclusion is a “spacious bag that is easy on the shoulders and easy to get in and out of.” The duffle has a “single snap pocket, adjustable shoulder straps and a single” exterior compartment. The bag comes to in two colors: olive and off-white color. It’s handmade in New York City. There haven’t been too many duffle bag renditions done right, but I feel this one is on top of the remake game. Available at Steven Alan.

Permanent Style caught up with new London based clothing store Trunk. It’s an interesting read, if only for the realisation that there really wasn’t anything like it in London before.

“Indeed, it now seems odd that the model didn’t already exist. Britain’s department stores are so dominated by fashion brands and sportswear that there are few places for small, craft-driven companies to sell to a discerning public. And there are so many great small companies in Europe, Japan and the US to pick from.

Some brands have proved so popular that there is a waiting list system – for Incotex trousers, for example. Nearly all 32 and 34 inch models have sold out and the man who walked away disappointed while I was in the store was apparently only one of many. Let’s hope that these brands don’t just use Trunk as a stepping stone to a wider market in the UK – Incotex is already being sold on the new Mr Porter site.”

Church’s SS11 collection just landed at Tres Bien and here’s our pick of the bunch. If we were another site we’d probably spend all this time talking about how difficult this shoe was to wear alongside inane tips on how to ‘pull it off’. But we’re not, so we won’t. Our Legacy have gone all aran on us with this jumper. While we do feel a little silly recommending a heavy knit when it’s nearly March, sometimes the weather doesn’t play along and warm up when it’s supposed to. And – if you’re in the UK – now is one of those times. (Our Legacy)
