First Look | COS Spring/Summer 2011

Selectism - cos-spring-2011-01

After showing off their accessories last week, here’s a look at COS’s full collection. There’s still a definite workwear influence in there but it’s a little less prevalent than in previous seasons. This time around there’s pleated chinos and double breasted blazers (as seen above) alongside short sleeved sweatshirts, and a plethora of jackets – including a bomber we have our eye on.

Take a leap to see more of the collection.

The Hill-Side Spring 2011 Preview

http://www.vimeo.com/19628747

The Hill-Side released this short video preview of their upcoming collection and we’ve gotta say, it looks pretty good. We would make a joke, but people didn’t react very well the last time we did that in a Hill-Side post.

Curated turns us onto this great looking artwork:

“Mentalgassi gets down in Getxto (near Bilboa), Spain for Getxo Photo. This work is awesome.”

Rachel Comey Derringer Oxford

Selectism - rachel-comey-oxford-01

If you’ve not been one for the chunkier sole, then Rachel Comey is for you. Her oxfords are great for summer, especially if you’re just not that into the traditional shoemakers attempts at summer footwear. We’d imagine these would work pretty well with her upcoming re-entry into the world of men’s clothing, which will relaunch come autumn.  (Opening Ceremony)

Ally Capellino ‘Armstrong’ Holdall

Selectism - ally-capellino-armstrong-holdall-01

It’s been a while since we’ve featured some Ally Capellino stuff to buy, but this bag is too handsome to ignore. It’s perfectly sized for an overhead plane compartment too, which should please those frequent (and not-so-frequent) flyers out there. It’s not cheap, but we’re sure you know the drill about investments by now. (Ally Capellino)

Moncler Jersey Jacket

Selectism - moncler-jersey-jacket-01

We’ve got a feeling we’ll be stretching the word ‘relative’ to its limits in this post. This Moncler jacket isn’t cheap, but it’s not exactly expensive either, ergo it’s relatively affordable. Compared to most Moncler pieces, it’s a downright bargain. As for the piece itself, it’s one of those no-nonsense jacket’s that just makes sense to have in your wardrobe. (Browns)

Thom Browne Double Breasted Trench Coat

Thom Browne Double Breasted Trench Coat

A new trench from the Thom Brown Spring/Summer 2011 collection. “This double breasted, unstructured trench coat – seen here in grey – has oversized pearlised buttons, a thick waist tie and is lined with the signature Thom Browne stripe. The trench is boxy and has a single back vent, a white contrast collar and buttoned epaulets.” Big fan of this one. Oki-ni has them.

More looks after the click.

Selectism | Around The Web

Selectism - ensuite-01

01. MAC (Pictured)

“Mac Premo is an artist, designer and director. Some of his work can be found at Mac Premo. He lives with his wife, Adrianna and two children. Shot at their apartment in Brooklyn. Recommended by Oliver Jeffers.” (An Afternoon With)

02. Insert rainbow-based pun here.

“There have been many accusations I’ve denied over the years, including thieving my neighbour’s cat (of which I was in fact guilty), eavesdropping on conversations that were none of my business (they were standing next to me) and plotting to make small children cry (there was no plotting – it was a snap decision). Whilst I may have been covering up certain events in a ‘the lady doth protest too much’ kind of way, there was one denial that was not only fervent, but true also.

I was accused of being a clothes racist.” (Tokyo Tombola)

03. Fernando Montiel gets shot at next level

“Quick, name the five Mexican fighters who have won world titles in three weight classes. The first four probably come easily to mind for fight fans. The small, select group includes boxing royalty: Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., Juan Manuel Marquez, Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera.” (ESPN)

04. How to Go to Fashion Week on the Internet

“Be a teenager in Modesto, California. Have a blog: FuckYeahSkorts.tumblr.com. Spend your free time hearting posts, hyping on Lookbook.nu and watching Cassavetes movies with your bisexual pizza delivery boyfriend.” (Thought Catalog)

Video | Show & Tell: Stefano Tonchi for Opening Ceremony

“A special New York fashion week gift from OCTV to you! Opening Ceremony presents its newest production, the first episode of ‘Show and Tell with Humberto Leon,’ with W MAGAZINE editor in chief Stefano Tonchi.”

Thom Browne Striped Polo Shirt

Selectism - thom-browne-polo-01

Yeah, it’s not polo weather yet, but we’re firm believers of planning for the future. If you believe that polos, like children, are the future then you’ll like this polo shirt. As you’d expect, it’s Thom Browne prices so start saving those pennies if you want one of these. (Oki-Ni)
