Folk’s sent over their Autumn/Winter 2011 lookbook and if you like Folk, you’ll love this. It’s a winter collection, so the usual heavy knits, hard wearing chinos, coats – including their hot white version – and shirts all make an appearance. It’s more about refinement than redefining clothing, so expect a lot of subtle tweaks as opposed to being punched in the face with detail. There’s also some handsome balaclavas in the mix, which should go down well with the stylish scally.

Moncler once again made sure to impress the fashion week scene with their choice of presentation and especially location. The brand presented their Autumn/Winter 2011 Grenoble collection at Grand Central Station. A large flash mob dance party was organized, with all participants wearing the new Moncler Grenoble Collection. Travelers walked by, stopped, took pictures and participated. We can only say “WOW”.

Here’s a look across the Haversack collection for Spring/Summer 2011. Production quality is top notch in this collection. A proper gentleman’s casual line. The influence is mixed: the cuts pull from the popular street trends of Tokyo while mixing in that classic European style into something new. It helps that the lookbook is well shot… Not just for the grownups.

Carlo Rivetti’s Stone Island brand brings a very interesting collection from the Stone Island Shadow Project for Spring 2011. All the design details are fine tuned to each piece which makes the collection so interesting. “Stone Island Shadow fabrics are carefully chosen for their balance of performance technologies and the unique aesthetic treatments and values for which Stone Island has been famous since its inception.” The “Long Sleeve Catch Pocket Raglan Tee” is a 100% jersey cotton shirt and offers a ribbed neck and cuffs. The one detail that really distinguishes the shirt is the vertical “catch pocket.” This pocket allows for a secure hold on items. As you bend over, the shirt pocket is able to secure items from falling out. Most pocket tees similar to this shirt never really held anything securely it was almost just an aesthetic detail that served no real purpose, but thanks to the Stone Island guys we no longer have this problem.
