Needles Sneakers for Spring/Summer 2011

Needles Sneakers for Spring/Summer 2011

Japan’s Needles showcases their trainers for Spring/Summer 2011. We love them. Just about everything that comes out of the Nepenthes house works. Material work on the eyestays (in white) contrasts the leather upper very well. The simple vulcanized sole remains classic throughout.

Comme des Garcon, Junya Watanabe MAN Border Shirt

Another one from the the CdG, Junya MAN collection. This cotton border shirt features strong detailings against the stripe base. Material on the shoulders and patchwork on the elbow add accents that make it unique. While priced high, this is a deserving addition to your closet. (v)

Anya Hindmarch Launches Men’s Range

Selectism - anya-hindmarch-01

Anya Hindmarch debuted her new mens line on GQ UK today, showcasing her range of notebooks, bags and other leathery goodness on their site. She’s even teamed up with GQ’s editor Dylan Jones to create his bag named…the Dylan Jones (pictured above). Hey, if you helped create it, you might as well name it after yourself. That’s why we’ve got a range of clothing named after the editor’s here. Look out for the Nick & Jeff & Jason & David range next year. That might be a joke.

First Look | COS Spring/Summer 2011 Accessories

Selectism - cos-spring-2011-accessories-01

Here’s a look at COS’s SS11 accessories collection. H&M’s upscale sibling (who would’ve been perfect for that Lanvin collab) continues making desirable and affordable accessories. We would say accessible but unless you’re in Europe, you’ve still got little chance of getting your holds on these. We’d heard murmurs about an online store a while back, but nothing’s surfaced as of yet.

Take a leap to see our picks from the collection.

Brand Focus | Monsieur Lacenaire

Selectism - monsieur-lacenaire-autumn-2011-01

One of the highlights from our trip to Copenhagen last week was new knitwear brand Monsieur Lacenaire. The designer Garance Broca, who worked at Hermes for three years, took her knowledge to make knitwear that’s classic and subtly subversive. Which means they’ve got knitted varsities’ (like the one you see above), cardigans with plackets that turn into scarves and other little twists that show off a slight edge in knitting know how. Made in the same factories she visited during her time in Hermes, the collection uses Alpaca (both regular and the baby kind) and Italian merino for the wools, making everything in France. Our favourite piece? Has to be that knitted varsity. You can expect to see them in Colette, among other stores, come next winter.

Adam Kimmel Autumn/Winter 2011 Lookbook

Adam Kimmel Autumn/Winter 2011 Lookbook

Today we can give a detailed preview of the Adam Kimmel Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection, after having previewed pieces of the line in Paris a while ago. The designer continues to present strong pieces inspired by American culture. Once again he manages to fuse a sleek look with otherwise manly cuts and rural inspired items. We love the fact that the line continues to be easy to wear and combine, while also standing out. Also the designer continues to produce interesting multi-use items. Last but not least, the accompanying luggage collection of the new collection, was produced by Mismo. Hopefully we can preview that soon as well.

Check out the full collection after the jump.

Selectism - garmsville-belt-01

Garmsville, the brand/blog from writer/freelancer/man about town Jason Jules has been around for a little while now. His tote bags have made an appearance on the site before, but his belts are worth a look too. The belt comes with 3 sets of D-rings, enabling you to swap the rings around should you get bored. They’re all made in England and, at £63, are reasonably priced. (39-39)
