New York based artisans, Freemans Sporting Club (F.S.C), shows us how to make a chore jacket for the rain. The timeless chore jacket is an iconic American garment that was made popular by workmen of the last century. F.S.C re-creates this piece and takes the classic details and implements them into this work coat. “With less than 5% of American clothing being manufactured here, F.S.C. remains steadfastly dedicated and proud to be an American made product.” The “Waxed Cotton Chore jacket” uses “5.5oz 80/20 cotton/nylon” for its exterior and also features a “water and wind resistant” shell that’s perfect for stormy weather. F.S.C states that the cut is a “comfortable fit” so size down to give it a more modern style. They use “Black gun metal jean style donut buttons on the front placket and cuff” for added durability.

Even the design folks are getting in on the collab game now with this work between Visp and Blå Station, who teamed up to create this clothes hanger. They were inspired by rhythmic gymnastics and old whisks, which sounds weird but make sense when you look at it. (Bla station)

Baird Brewing Company, based in Numazo, Japan, is a family owned company focused on the celebratory experience in great beer flavor. While the seasonal offerings are a little difficult to find outside of Japan, core brews like the Angry Boy Brown Ale are available in the United States.  “Beneath the cool façade of the warrior, a red-hot flame of intensity, determination and, yes, anger burns. So it is with this unpredictable Brown Ale: fleeting malty sweetness and warmth hide complexity, a barely controlled bitterness, and, naturally, a bit of an angry edge.”

Highsnob looks at Dior Homme’s take on the sweat sneaker: “From their Spring/Summer 2011 Collection Dior Homme has released the Sweat Sneaker. The low top sneaker features both fleece and leather on the upper. The dark indigo washed fleece is accented with black leather and metallic silver accents on the heel.

P.P.O.W will host Sarah Frost’s first solo exhibition from April 14 to May 14, 2011 in New York City. Frost’s installations focus on a new found interest in paper gun making – the artist having recently discovered an online community of paper craftsmen (mostly boys) through Youtube. With this basis, Frost creates environments that fully immerse the viewer in her monumental arsenal.

Frost’s work was previously shown at the Great Rivers Biennial 2010 exhibition at the Contemporary Art Museum Saint Louis. It’ll be one note to miss this Spring.
