Selectism - outlier-nyc-bomber-01

Outlier NYC are the go-to guys for the Big Apple’s style conscious urban cyclists in the know. Since we first spoke with Tyler and Abe, a few years back, the company has been creating some amazing pieces that unite aesthetics with function. And seeing as it was December that we ran a feature on their latest collaboration, we thought it was high time for another catch up. Abe Burmeister discusses growth, expansion and the virtues of linen.

The Orphan’s Arms ‘St Martins Must Burn’ T-Shirt

Selectism - orphans-arms-t-shirt-01

Looking to impress that fashionable person you like? Wear this. It’s like sex panther, 60% of the time, it works every time. And it’s also a very nice tee also, so you can just wear it because you like it as opposed to as a just being a fashion-person-attracting statement shirt. It’s also all organic cotton and individually hand printed if you like that sorta thing. (Daniel Jenkins)

Aspen Fashion Week | Number:Lab

selectism - Aspen Fashion Week | Number:Lab

The inspirations for Number:Lab’s Autumn/Winter 2011 runs deep. Some things won’t come as a surprise – like Zaha Hadid’s Bergisel structure – given founder Luis Fernandez’s background in architecture. Other inspirations – Colorado’s Air Force Academy and a more general notion of taking flight – might seem more nebulous. However, that is all part of the quest for perfection from the Number:Lab team.

At Aspen Fashion Week the Autumn/Winter collection proved the mission of polished and tailored sporting apparel possible. Sleek looks on the catwalk followed the reference points listed above and also infused a bit of rugged Winter sports (think hockey) cues. As a whole, the line is about giving guys a sense of endurance and power. It’s apres sport… but very much ready for any action.

Runway shots by Nick Tininenko.

More from the Aspen cat walk after the jump.

Stutterheim Kapellgränd Raincoat

Selectism - stutterheim-Kapellgränd-coat-01

Stutterheim are to due to launch a new member of their coat family, the Kapellgränd. It’s a lighter version of their winter coat and they’ve elongated it a bit. Designed by former Yohji Yamamoto chief designer Kumi Kawaji, it’s well suited for those spring showers. It’ll be out in a couple of weeks, so you can get your ‘what did you do last summer’ steeze before you know it.

Take a leap to see a couple of shots.

Kitsune Rescue Jacket for Japan

Highsnob highlights this benefit jacket from Kitsune and Paris’ Colette for Japan. “French brand Kitsune has produced a leather and velvet ‘Rescue’ jacket as part of the colette Loves Japan campaign. The varsity jacket features 7 tricolor foxes (in Japan 7 is a lucky number) making a circle, like the circle of the Japanese flag. 100 percent of the proceeds of the sales of the jacket will be directly donated to the Japanese Red Cross.”

Raf Simons Autumn/Winter 2011 Runway

Raf Simons Autumn/Winter 2011 Runway

Raf Simons delivers looks from their Autumn/Winter 2011 show. While the baggy (oversized) trousers may not work off runway for most, the details and clean lines on their overcoats stand out to us. Vibrant colors are used throughout the collection. Simple color hits work on many pieces as do the clean suitings. The purple trench (bove) with its deep pockets is strong.

Selectism - sebago-shoe-boat-01

So yesterday we posted up a shoe car. We were pretty amazed by it, but someone saw it and said ‘a shoe car? I’ve been had a shoe car, it’s about shoe boats now’ and promptly sent in a picture as proof. This shoe boat is by Sebago – we’re eagerly await the shoe plane to be sent our way tomorrow.

Ralph Lauren Purple Label Alligator Penny Loafers

Selectism - ralph-lauren-alligator-loafers-01

Is Snoop Dogg the most influential man in fashion at the moment? Probably not, but bear with us. After that Adam Kimmel collection influenced by the man we’ve now spotted these alligator loafers, which are so Snoop-esque we’re tempted to call the man and see if he wants to sue. Just make sure you get your hair suitably did before you buy these. (Mr Porter)

Converse for Missoni High Tops

Selectism - missoni-converse-trainers-01

We’re sure these have done the blogger rounds but eff it, we still like ‘em. Our big problem with Chucks is that they’re ridiculously uncomfortable – something that’s apparently been fixed in these Missoni versions. They’ve added a comfier midsole so you don’t feel every pebble on the streets when you’re out and about. And, so we don’t sound too much like our parents, these are also stezzy (is that what the kids say?). [Aloha Rag]
