Kjus debuted both technical and lifestyle pieces at Aspen Fashion Week.

The brand known for its uncompromisable outwear strives to push forward advancements in technology with a clear eye to fashion in sleek, form fitting designs. The Winter 2012 collection finds this goal at the forefront, a series of technical wool coats and down blazers proving Kjus’ astounding attention to detail won’t be lost when garments move off the slopes.

Sierra Nevada is taking bold steps.

This spring marks the first use by an American brewing company of fresh hops from the Southern Hemisphere.  Southern Hemisphere Harvest from Sierra Nevada “will debut in late April and will feature fresh Pacific Hallertau, New Zealand Motueka and New Zealand Southern Cross hops, all from New Zealand.” The hops are the freshest possible, flown to California within a week of picking.

The result is a beer with pale and caramel malts and an alcohol content of 6.7%.

“Haute Couture Hits the Slopes.”

Rossignol by JC de Castelbajac debuted at Aspen Fashion Week. The line combines cutting edge technology – pulled from Rossignol’s ten years in the apparel business and 104 years in ski – and JCDC’s trademark sense of fun. The men’s line finds the designer using technical wool and advanced printed fabrics in garments that are all about adventure and exploration. Brush painted camouflage and and helicopter instrument panel prints are indicative of the them. Additionally, JCDC employs bold plaids and waterproof corduroy.

The line is set to hit the mountain for the 2011/2012 ski season.

We’d not seen Slanted magazine until very recently (forgive us) but this issue looks like it’s worth a purchase. Focusing on women in graphic design and typography, it features the works from the likes of Ariane Spanier, Julia Born and Kalpesh Lathigra amongst others. (Azita)

Not the first khaki field watch we have looked at, but maybe the most subtle. Hamilton’s Khaki Field Auto is a replica of the watches used by U.S. Military during the Korean War. It features a 40mm case and one of the cleanest looks on the market. Ready to take a beating. (zozo)

Here’s an interesting bulb from Solovyov design. It’s an interesting take on the energy efficient bulb and, most importantly, looks cool. And that’s all there is to it (for us, we’re shallow like that).
